This just started appearing this week on the wake screen. There was a menu item (top right) to turn it off; which I did. But what is this and is it important/useful? Its something that is used when the quick charge is plugged in, so I would assume Quick Charge. Since I disabled it, I don't know how to get it back.

TIA.

I thought that too. It had that Letgo ad in it so I came to the same conclusion. Just can't figure out which one. Started on Saturday (4/16) but hadn't installed anything recently.

I'm stumped.

It looks like adware. Do you have an app called Flash keyboard? I remember reading a thread about this app pushing ads on the lock screen while the phone was charging.

Do you have "SpeedCharge" or "Z Camera" installed? They've both been suggested in other discussions as potential culprits for what you're seeing (adware). Any apps from companies like Cheetah Mobile should be suspect (e.g., "Clean Master"), as they've been known to either be adware themselves, or surreptitiously install adware. A quick web search will give you some background on this. Unfortunately, a lot of scummy apps made it into the Play Store either before becoming crap-ware - and evolved into bad practices via updates, or simply managed to sneak in their awful features without people knowing.

I suggest searching your phone to find any and all apps that purport to affect your lock screen. See if SpeedCharge or any other "battery optimization" apps are installed, or if "Z Camera" is installed. While I cannot say for certain that Cheetah Mobile is a "bad guy", that's my impression, and I would uninstall any apps you may have from them. Likewise - any apps that purport to "optimize" or "protect" your phone, as these typically are granted far more permissions than you would normally grant to a typical app.

I clipped the portion of your screenshot above the embedded ad, and below the date and ran it through a Google image search. A couple of links came up pointing to threads where other people have the same issue with the same adware.

The first thread reinforces the notion that it may be due to some kind of battery booster app:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...rid-extra-lock-screen-when-phone-plugged.html

The second thread suggests it might be related to "SpeedCharge", "Kitty Play" or "Z Camera".
http://www.droidforums.net/threads/annoying-lock-screen-speedcharge.288205/

Seems that "Z Camera" and Cheetah Mobile are getting the most hits as I continue searching for items related to this. Z Camera is from "Zero Team". I would personally suggest steering away from any of their apps, as well as Cheetah Mobile apps.

The thread below is relevant and probably worth reading. It almost mentions that the software team behind the "Go" apps (many free apps from the company in China, such as Go Launcher, GoSMS, Go Weather) may be responsible. Other suspects include: TouchPal keyboard app

Informative thread here - points to "Go" software (various) and "Kitty Play" as most likely sources:

I haven't gotten any of those apps on my phone. I will see if they show up elsewhere in app manager as side loaded apps.

Thx

I cannot exactly remember what thread it's under here at Android Central, but I know that my phone fell victim to it when I disabled a few bloatware apps and did a cache wipe. The first reboot after the wipe ended up with several weird apps never previously in the app drawer or in any list. Not sure but I'm thinking it was on this Turbo 2 I'm using and not on my 1st Droid Turbo. Thinking it's only a Turbo 2 thing if I recall correctly.

Excellent research and help by the way! Didn't think a thumbs up on your post was strong enough credit for the response you gave. Nice!!
