Through constant upgrading, mostly from galaxy to galaxy..for the 1st time I feel the current Galaxy S9+ I have is still a rocking phone, Hasnt slowed down, my battery is good for a day and the camera still rocks...Im up for an upgrade...NOTE 10? Im not into S pen, the cameras are about the same im told....Pixel 4 maybe? My daughter and wife upgraded to the IPhone 11 and I feel there cameras are a bit better than the S9...(Im never going to an Iphone BTW)

If you are happy with your current phone, then I'd say that it isn't necessary to upgrade. There will always be new phones available if and when you feel the need to upgrade.

I also have the S9+ and I am still loving it. My battery life is amazing and the phone is still snappy. The camera now has night mode (since one of the recent updates) and it's amazing. I had the Galaxy S5 and went to the S9+ so I do keep my phones for a while. For the high cost of these phones these days I will be hanging on to mine whether I am eligible for an upgrade or not. Once the phone starts slowing down or having major issues then that will be the time to look into getting a new one.

If your S9+ still works, I would wait for February. It's only 4 months away and I'm sure Samsung will do something cool with S11. Also, there is a rumor that Note 10 Lite is coming.

I'm holding out for the 11. It's supposed to come with a spectrometer. Why do I want that? No idea, but it sounds cool as hell. Supposedly, it can be used to scan for blood glucose levels and calorie content in food.

Spectrometer? Bah! I'm holding out for the particle accelerator.

I got a great deal on an LG G8. I got really tired of the curved screen on my 9 plus. Is it light years ahead of the 9 plus? No it is not, but I really like the size, and the software of LG. I love that LG has a Bixby type button, but it leads you to Google. Swipe to the left, and its my google feed, not Bixby.
Some of you who are looking for a change from Samsung should really give LG a chance. They have stepped up their game with the G8, and I would imagine the V50 will be even better.
