Got used to use "Hey Google" to launch google assistant on S7 Edge, now find that it's not available on S9+.

Is it available on some Carrier network now or it has not happened to any S9 or S9+?

I use "ok Google" without any issues. Maybe in the assistant settings just change your launch phrase?

I've been wondering the same thing.

Are you aware of any such setting?

Open the Google Assistant, go into the settings on the 3 bars menu, go to voice, and there should be a section for training your voice activation. Just use the phrase you want instead of what it tells you to use.

Not 100% this still works but it used to.

Also it only works from the lock screen if you updated to Oreo.

What only works from the lock screen? I can do "OK google" from any screen or even with the screen off.

My previous S7 did officially support both Ok and Hey, so I was surprised that the S9+ didn't.

Today just got an update July security patch (Sprint) and Hey Google is now an option along with much improved Samsung Stock text app.

What are the improvements to the stock text app?

The only improvement I know of is that you can set custom ringtones per conversation. Maybe there are more? I still haven't gotten the stock messaging app update on my AT&T variant.
