When should PIN unlock appear on lock screen?

I use Smart Lock on my S10+. I've enabled a PIN, facial recognition, and a fingerprint. Sometime, I can't get facial recognition or the fingerprint reader to work. In those instances, I'd like to just enter my PIN, but I can't get the PIN pad to appear. I've tried tapping the screen some more, but it still doesn't appear. Thanks.

You should see it if you swipe on the lockscreen without authenticating with fingerprint/face.

Doesn't really matter (even diagonally works) as long as you swipe long enough for the pad/text input to appear.

Try changing it to a password. Does that appear when swiping? Are you using a carrier-branded model? It works on my T-Mobile version.

Huh... weird. Why would Verizon lock that? Have you tried it in safe mode? Or removing the fingerprint lock and re-adding it?

Stupid question: How do I disable the PIN? It became disabled when I set a password, but I don 't see a way to remove a PIN altogether. I have fingerprints and Face enabled. I'm looking in Lock screen.

Ah, if you have a password set up then you cannot use a PIN. It's one or the other

I also had tried a password instead of a PIN, but swiping did not present the password box either. I just disabled face and fingerprint, and doing so makes the PIN pad appear.

Well, I'm stuck at this point. It's not worth doing a factory reset.

Try double tap to wake the screen and swipe up. Don't swipe from all the way from the bar at the bottom if you have Samsung Pay. Swipe from the sensor area or higher

Correct me if I am wrong but, the purpose of Smartlock is that certain locations are trusted then authentication wouldn't be needed as the device is unlocked.

Disable Smartlock
Make sure that Tap to Wake is enabled. Make sure that PIN unlock is enabled. Swipe left to right on the lock screen. The keypad should appear.

Thanks, that does it! Double tapping will reveal the fingerprint reader, but the PIN pad will open if I swipe up instead of using the fingerprint (or face) option. BTW, I can't figure out what the Show Lockdown (screenshot) option is supposed to do. How do I find the "power button option" in that that's mentioned?

I forgot to mention that if you have "lift to wake" setup and you pick up your phone there's no need to double tap.
