If you wanted a simple answer you should have mentioned that in you OP. Android is not going to give you what you are asking for. Simply because of the way it works.Dude we are just talking about phones calm down. I was just trying to get people's thoughts on things.
There is no reason the iPhone 4 should not have gotten turn by turn navigation. The hardware was clearly capable of supporting it.It is true that iOS cheats a bit with version numbers. Devices get updated, but features are dropped for older hardware so it's the same version number, but not the same software. Sometimes this is for hardware reasons (like the fingerprint scanner) but sometimes it seems to be just because they want people to buy a new device.
Then there is no reason to buy an Android phone. If you just need basic features, and you do not mind the premium, buy an iPhone.I've had my ga3 since it came out. I run nova launcher prime on it. I am familiar with what a custom rom can do for me. I am not ignorant of the subject. I got the phone because it was different at the time from everything else. As time went on I realized that I don't need most of the features Android offers.
Do you believe that Android has any flaws?

Yes. There is a lot of room for improvement in UI optimization for example. Even in Vanilla Android.Do you believe that Android has any flaws?
Not all, but most. Apple apps are going to be more polished, and the UI is going to be faster in general. There are fundamental differences in the way that each platform handles the UI and Multi-tasking.The vibe I've been getting is that Android is superior in all categories.
Thats the reality. You are complaining about something google can't control. Google cannot force Samsung to do things the way you want them done...they don't own Samsung. Google only has full control over Nexus products.Apple is the work of the devil. If you didn't buy a nexus you have no right to complain.
Marketshare numbers don't lie. There is a really good reason Android is stomping Apple in marketshare now, despite the fact that Apple had a 3 year head start.I realize this is an Android based forum, but come on no one has given thought to switching to IOS?

In the long run, all bets are off, but in the short- to medium-term, it's a matter of ecosystems. Google, Microsoft, and Apple have them, and masses of people are already heavily invested therein. In a service-based world like mobile, going your own way is extraordinarily difficult. I don't think we'll see new major players in this space anytime soon. Then again, technology can be disruptive: the future none can know.I just wonder over time will manufacturers begin to think about separating themselves from Android. Like Samsung may do with Tizen.
I have to wonder if Android would stay the biggest OS if Samsung left them behind.
