Where is the new HC rom???

Everybody needs to relax and chill a little.

It's generally accepted that devs don't like to be rushed. Things will be done when they are done.

1. Manners?
2. Couple of weeks =|= couple of months (which is how long it took)
3. Google lied. It's a fact. Deal with it.

1. How am I being unmannered? I think you need to look at yourself in that department
2. They did not say a couple weeks. Couple has a defined number of 2. The said a few. As for your equation, a few weeks could in fact == a couple months.
3. Google did not lie, they were slower than desired, but did not lie.

"Dude" - Google can't even control their own platform development ... 2 1/2 months to get GB out for their OWN phone. That is not a couple of weeks. It's pathetic. Time for you fanboys to wake up and realize that Google is just as sh!tty a company as Crapple.
That doesn't mean that android is all bad but it does mean that Google is a liar and sh!tty developer when it comes to software.
And people are absolutely within their right when they complain about google not releasing AOSP for HC. All the devs have now (rightly so) stopped development on SDK ROMs and we are all waiting for the AOSP.
Time for people to call Google out on their lying sh!tty ways!

Holy...So much wrong with this...

Please, before you bash google any longer, I encourage you to learn how Open Source works. You might learn a thing or two.

It's commonly accepted that under Android's open source license, Google has 30 days to release the source. It's been like 2 weeks.
In ever other release I always remember them hitting that 30 day window so there isn't any reason to think they won't now.

Once that happens you can tear it up and do it yourself if the devs working on it aren't fast enough for you...it's open source, you have that right.

Me personally? I'm gonna sit tight and patiently wait for it because it's only a tablet/eReader. I don't really see any reason is getting worked up about something I get to enjoy for free.

Google's not perfect but they are better than the alternative.

Gotta keep things in perspective, right?

Mmmh. Other companies can stick to a schedule and deliver a non-buggy, finished and polished product.
And I think people have a right to be angry that "Doodle" and Co think they can do whatever they want without any repercussions from consumers.

No, other tech compamies learned not to announce release dates until they could be 90% sure they could make them. Of course then you get the screaming consumer complaining the company too slow in upgrading.

Welcome to the computer industry.

I like the part about not really seeing any reason to get worked up about something that we will get for free. If only some people would understand that.

They can't do it soon enough if you ask me.
HC is truly the superior tablet OS and much better on the nook than the other solutions.

Please, before you bash google any longer, I encourage you to learn how Open Source works. You might learn a thing or two.

1. You just come in here, insult people because they dare to insult the holy google ... You are correct that you are not "unmannered", you have no manners at all.
2. If Google means "a couple of months", instead of "weeks" then they should say so.
3. Yup. They lied - see also #2.
4. Maybe take some English lessons? You should sign your friends at doodle up as well. Couple, when used as an idiom, means the same as few and it is defined as more than two, but not many.
5. I encourage you to learn (i) manners, (ii) English and (iii) about open source. Android is not really a "true" open source OS, like the word "open source" is usually used. Otherwise, other developers would be allowed to contribute to the source code. This is obviously not the case. Android is, in fact, the most closed source code they can get away with, while still calling it "open source." It's a nice marketing gimmick though.
6. I personally love it when people feel personally attacked, because you dare to criticize a company, which they love, for some wrong-doing. Doodle screwed up - deal with it. YOU would also benefit from them changing their ways, but if you prefer to play Ostrich and stick your head into the sand ...

You seem to be the only one casting insults. I've reread my posts. Still don't see the insults. Either your being to sensitive too advice such as learning how Open Source works, or stating that your facts are not facts, or I'm missing it completely. I have no problem finding your insults though. Pot calling the kettle black?

2. If Google means "a couple of months", instead of "weeks" then they should say so.

We've been over this. Couple != Few. Couple means 2. That's it. Few is a nebulous number defined as not many. Is the number 8-10 really defined as "many"? I wouldn't necessarily say so.

3. Yup. They lied - see also #2.

You're still mistaken. See #2.

4. Maybe take some English lessons? You should sign your friends at doodle up as well. Couple, when used as an idiom, means the same as few and it is defined as more than two, but not many.

Couple does not mean "few". Sorry, it doesn't. A couple is always a few, but a few is not always a couple. If you took a few weeks from google to mean two, that sounds like it's not googles fault. I'm apparently not the one that needs english lessons...

Also, yet another insult from you, nice. Who's the one insulting who here?

I'm going to ignore all the insults. I do laugh at them though, since you seem so sure everyone is insulting you, rather than the other way around. Reality does not agree with that. Anyway, Android is fully compliant with the open source licences that they release under. If that's not the kind of open source you want, nothing that can be done about it. Doesn't mean it's anything like closed source. Look at iOS. They are never going to get something resembling Cyanogen. Why? No source. Why does android have it? It's got the source opened up.

6. I personally love it when people feel personally attacked, because you dare to criticize a company, which they love, for some wrong-doing. Doodle screwed up - deal with it. I don't love google. I like certain products of theirs, but not everything, nor am I in love with all of their practices, etc. I also never stated that the way they do things was the best for anyone, myself included. Straw man arguments are very weak. Please, refrain from that for the sake of your own credibility. This whole time, I've done my best to not insult you. You obviously are not granting me the same courtesy. Unless you can actually act like an open minded adult, I think this conversation is done. Looking forward to seeing a hopefully improved next post.
