Which is better S6 or iPhone 6?

I don't think its any surprise the S6 has the better hardware. Samsung was targeting the iPhone 6, they knew precisely what they werr aiming for, the iPhone. Apple simply wanted to make a larger phone but they were not targeting or trying to best any particular handset except their own. Was Apple caught snoozing? Interesting question, that is.

I think it's fair to say that Apple added the larger screen and NFC in reaction to their main competition, mainly Samsung. They have widgets but the same as in Android devices. They are trying to introduce multi-tasking. Incremental changes hurt the Galaxy line from a customer perspective but they never seem to affect Apple. As the GS6 and other Android devices continue to push the envelope in term of functionality, performance and features, you may see the same transformational culture arise at Apple that appears to be going on with Samsung visa vie the GS6.

I see Apple's moves towards larger screens as them simply them answering demand. They knew that if you wanted larger screen you had choose another platform, but not necessarily a Samsung. Same thing with widgets. I'm not defending Apple but I don't think they were worried too much about Samsung. Android? Yes. ...but not Samsung. However, I guarantee with the S6 they're worried about Samsung, in particular, now. They'd better bring it in the Fall.

They will have to make a giant leap which is something they aren't doing but may not have a choice to keep pace with Samsung. If they keep on their current track, maybe three or four years from now, they may looking at a noticeable sea change in market share.

Based on the specs of both cellphone, s6 is better than iPhone. The RAM of s6 is 3GB but the iPhone has only 1GB ram. You can search the specs of both cellphone in internet.

So we have seen the cameras in action, S6 wins, we have seen the screen technology, Samsung wins, we see the Memory which is a tie for internal and Samsung wins for application RAM and no matter what iphone users say (I have a 6Plus) its not real multi-tasking and not as fluid as they claim and a bigger battery with rapid charging so Samsung wins. Oh, and ONE MORE THING, Samsung WINS with OIS where Apple doesn't unless you buy the 6 Plus.

And as mentioned above latest DDR4 RAM which is faster, so Samsung wins.

Don't forget the GS6 has dual wireless charging standards without having to buy accessories as well dual mobile payment systems as well as a more LTE radio.

Why not iphone 6?

Because of all the things mentioned in the 88 posts above yours! And because you are on Android Central (long live Lloyd!!!!)

But seriously, if you dig the iPhone 6, go for it. I am going with Samsung S6 Edge. And we can all still be friends. No worries. I won't call you a wall hugger, and you don't call me a copycat. Dogs and cats, living together.....

You really can't go wrong either but given what the GS6 offers, you're might happier with it even when i6s comes out later this year given how long it took Apple to offer a larger screen and NFC to name two features that were sold as major leaps forward .

Awesome. One thing I have noticed that there has been few Apple fan posts lately. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but it's just strange that there have been no running battles in these sub-forums.,Apple fan posts have been pretty civil and that's been great. Tolerance is the key to great debates where discussion is on the merits of each device. Hope it's not the fact that I am not online often enough to see them but these negative posts pop up,as early as the announcement of a device at the MWC or earlier .

Underestimating the competition and being complacent is a recipe for disaster. A larger screen for the iPhone not the Plus is not innovation but small steps are sold that way by Apple. Steve Jobs would be driving innovation that would floor the competition. Samsung thankfully appears to be taking a much different approach of which the GS6 is a great first step and should have Apple worried.

I think all competing companies concern themselves with their competition.
They see what is working for their competition, and they follow suit.
Apple isn't any different.
They saw that Samsung was having success with bigger phones, so they followed suit.

You are correct, dual wireless charging, I left it out only because not everyone sees wireless charging as essential, unlike a camera, storage, etc. Still its a differentiator for some.

Those and other features that we are not likely to see all at once and only in increments with Apple. We digress. Bring on the. GS6.

Samsung certainly isn't the only Android OEM making larger screened phones though. My point is that Samsung is not Apple's only competition and I don't think Apple saw Samsung as their only competition. However, I think Apple will be paying a lot more attention to Samsung now because Samsung has obviously specifically targeted Apple with the S6.

Pretty confident from a market share and sales perspective that Apple sees Samsung as their primary completion. Who else has Apple is engaged in so much litigation lately.

I think this nicely illustrates why Apple has engaged Samsung in litigation:

Apple has been a bit smug though and with the S6 they're about to receive an unwelcome, but quite effective enema.
