Who is sticking with their Evo instead of upgrading to Evo 3d?

I just signed up a couple of days ago and got my Evo. Didn't want to wait. I have a feeling I'm not going to regret getting my evo now. I'm loving it and can't put it down.

When I heard about the 3D, I was excited because I knew I was gonna get something new soon. After watching, and reading a few reviews NOTHING really made me want it that bad. As I have not used it obviously... I'm going to wait. 3D doesn't do much for me anyway... we'll see. Enjoying my EVO 4G for now ;)

I have had my EVO since DAY ONE! Currently running Miui 1.6.17 rom. If the 3d was not comming out, there isbno doubt that I would be running this phone for my full 2 years. But I want to see how much more responsive a rooted 1.2 ghz dual core would be.

Wife is a gold member with the yearly upgrade offered to let me use her upgrade for the 3D. Surprisingly, I've declined. Even trading in current Evo for $100 and getting the new one doesn't appeal to me right now. Current Evo is still a good phone that i'm sure will still be supported by Devs. 3D just not enough of an upgrade imo.

Re: Who is sticking with their Evo instead of upgrading to Evo 3d

I went to Sprint today, to do my usual test drive on new devices. And... I was NOT impressed at all. It felt lightweight and cheesy, I'm use to Girth(the ladies like girth). Its also narrower, noticably, Icons even look smaller. If I didnt know better I would think it a 4" display. As far as the browser, the 3D was faster, but, almost undetectable. And the camera deal, is a gimmick, not worth paying for. My test drive lasted less than 5min, that was enuff for me to so no-go. The OG Evo is still the Sinatra, of all phones out now.

Well to each their own. I dont care for the 3d effects, its a nice touch, but not the reason i got the phone. Faster processor, better screen, more memory and such. Thats why i got it. But thats me.

I will rock my OG EVO until it breaks. I have no reason to switch anytime soon. Now with Deck's 1.2 ROM in stable mode, I don't see a reason anyone would want another phone. :p

I'm just waiting on the Devs. When I can root it, I will buy it.

Re: Who is sticking with their Evo instead of upgrading to Evo 3d

After briefly considering the 3D, I decided to keep my 4G.

I've got it set up just like I want it and it does everything I want it to do. I recently bought the Seidio extended battery and that sucker last a good 14-16 hours of heavy use unlike the original battery which provided maybe 4-6 hours of such use.

I've had my phone since launch day last June and see no need to upgrade. I think the 3D stuff is a gimmick and I wish they'd spent that effort on making the phone even better. I'm sure the 3D is a great phone but right now, it does not offer enough to make me want to switch.

Plus, I like the kickstand on mine.

I got to play with the EVO 3D at work last Thursday and was not impressed. Felt more "gimmicky" than anything else to me.

I love my EVO. It's had no problem, so I see no reason to switch. Besides I am not due for an upgrade until next spring.

The EVO works fine not need for the 3D gimmick I want the 4G+ same specs as the 3D but without the dual cameras. That would be an upgrade but we may not get it for a while or ever:confused:
