Who resisted and who wishes they'd resisted?

I am still happy with my note 2 but if I do switch carriers like I plan then I will upgrade to the 3

What carrier are you going to go to?

There's a rumor that Apple shares their database with NSA. Not sure if that's true or just a satire.

I don't think it is true. Let's just say it was... The NSA already has my fingerprint anyway as it was required when I got my drivers license.

I love this phone but wish I waited for for the s5 or went for the s4 as the phone is a bit big for me.

It is not a small device by any definition. I take it you're outside your 14-day return/exchange window. If you think the Note 3 is big you should compare it to the size of the Mega I just got as a secondary device. Now by phone standards its ridiculous but by tablet standards its small.

I'm curious, does the Mega reasonably fit in your pocket?

I never put my phones in my pants pocket. Ever. I have a thing about that. I'll use a belt pouch/clip that I'll clip to my pants/jeans pocket. If I'm wearing a jacket I will put it them in a jacket pocket (as long as they're in a case with a screen protector).

have had no problems the OP and others have mentioned. I'm quite happy with the upgrade from the note 2. I love how light it is. If I can figure out how to right my battery, I'll be quite happy until the note 4 or S5.

That's my thing too...when I had my Note 3, I left it in the Box and the original plastic screen cover until I had at a minimum a protective case like a TPU and a screen protector. I was not going to put a Note 3 naked in my pocket...lmao. I'm the complete opposite with regards to belt pouch/clips because I do so much running around, I have to feel that the phone is with me. Never had a problem with any phone (flip or smartphone) in my pocket.

I certainly respect your position on phones in pockets, so I guess I'll rephrase the question out of that respect. Do you think that the Mega could reasonably fit in any of your pockets? I am positive Samsung will come out with a real phone, instead of that entry-level thing called the Mega, that will be that size at some point in the future. I'm just wondering if I were to ever have a phone that size if it could fit in a pocket, comfortably. :D

I don't think the Mega would fit in my pockets, especially with anything other than the thinnest of TPU cases, if then. I just don't like the feeling of things in my pockets beside my very diminutive credit card holder. The Mega is too big to pocket even for folks that prefer to do so, IMO.

Depends on your pants. The mega 6.3 is. 65" taller and. 34" wider than the note 3 . So about a dime taller and half dime wider.

My 14 day period runs out in a few days so I could exchange it, but the only phone I am interested in is the G2 but I am disappointed in the storage. The s4 is not new especially if you are going into a 24 month contract, so I will keep it. I am sure I will get used to the size as I did have the original note.

Hmmm, that doesn't sound so bad. I believe Samsung threw the Mega out there to see how people would like the size before committing serious specs into a phone the size of the Mega. If there's a Mega-size phone that will meet or exceed the Note 3 (ok, ok...exceed, but it has to be by a lot and after two years), I would buy it.

Plus, I will definitely try out the demo phone in my pocket anyway...lol.

The original Note was bigger.

@Harmony707

What is it about the HTC One you or Moto X you don't like either. You shouldn't keep the Note 3 unless you absolutely love it.

I fit in the former category. I was hell bent on upgrading from II to III but I'm somewhat glad I resisted now. Whilst the III is a nice piece of kit, I feel Samsung missed a beat with it. No fingerprint scanner, no wireless charging to name a couple. It also feels rushed out. There's a number of QA issues, the wonky home button for one.

I think I'll hold out and see what the IV will offer. Rumours already floating about. Fingerprint scanners are a gimmick and not very useful to me. And wireless charging is incredibly slow. The USB 3.0 charges this beast in about 2 hours. Can't beat that. Sorry. Note 3 was the right choice for me. I'll kick myself if Verizon gets the Nexus 5.

I don't know of what wonky hone button you're talking about. Mine works fine (and doesn't have a VZ logo on it!!)

Resisting no more...

I should be getting it on Wednesday...it's a great Birthday present from my hubby. :D

Actually, Apple doesn't make any hardware at all. It is all made for them by Samsung, HTC, Intel, and the like.

I love the phone. No regrets for me. The finger print scanner for me is a gimmick. Just as much as the face recognition when that was released.

I agree. I don't and wouldn't use either one. I'm not a CIA agent or spy. I don't even use screen lock. Everyone around me well knows to not touch my stuff and they don't. I haven't figured out what the comments have been about the home button. Mine works perfectly and I have zero issues with it.
