Who's getting Fold 6

I didn't want to turn this into a debate where to trade in right away or wait that's a personal choice. Even the first fold was halted and put in recall mode due to the screen issue. The fold six folds tighter you never know new design could create new problem that will come out in real world usage.

I did my pre-order little later so I don't get mine till August 7th or later, add 10 days to that I feel fortunate that I'll be able to watch the real world usage before I have to make my decision, that's me though.

I usually just suggest waiting a little bit for newcomers to this forum for food for thought. It's free to wait.


Look at the earbuds 3 they stopped shipping them because of an issue, I sure would hate not to have my phone if that would happen on the fold 6.

I guess I think this way because I went through the Note 7 ordeal and I seen a lot of people lose their phones they traded in because they traded in so fast. Take at least a week to take in the flavor of the new phone.

Trade in can get stolen anytime from FedEx and has no relation to when you ship your trade in IMO. It just depends on your luck. I have been trading in since ages and had bad luck only once with last year trade in. So hopefully, I have paid my dues of bad luck of stolen phones from FedEx

Once a new version is released, I can't use the old version even if someone pays me

Finally, I have a busy schedule during the week days and absolutely have no time to spend around packing and shipping on most of the days. I rather get it done with, as I'm not anyway going back to old phone. And it's definitely not a race or competition.

I agree that if you are new and this is your only phone then don't rush. This is my one of many secondary phones, so I'm fine even if there is an issue with the phone. I have flexibility to exchange and wait for replacement.

Damn it Samsung, how many years is it going to to take of stolen, I mean lost phones from FedEx to change over to UPS.
Haha yeah I know, they have been using UPS for over a year to ship the phone from their end. But still continue to use FedEx for trade in and returns. Hopefully, eventually they'll change to UPS for everything

I don’t think there’s any kind of debate. I think it’s a good idea always to hold onto your current device so you’re sure you’re gonna enjoy your new device before you have to return it whether you don’t like it or if it’s an issue with it… I think most of the members that order yearly get to inspect the device a lot sooner and make up their mind right away since they have been using the foldables

Absolutely. I have S24U and iPhone 14pro max so I also have back ups. Another reason I didn't say about waiting to send in your trade is the trade-in amount. A lot of people don't understand the $1,200 trade-in amount given for the fold 5 is promotional. If a person sends their trade-in before the return window closes on the fold 6 in this case and you decide to return the fold 6 you will not get your fold 5 back and you will only be refunded the non-promotion value, which I think was $440 for the fold 5.

I just try to point out the info for new people on trading in early has potential issues. I know you are aware of those and most on here are.

Am having the same issue. Installed the glass screen protector, but the front cover is not fitting well now.
