Why a 16MP camera is better than 12MP

I'm just going to share something.

Guess which one is the higher resolution.

If you really know photography, you'd know that the answer is not obvious at all.

Bottom of each pair look fried. All I see is processing effects. Sure, you can see the text better, but...
This. Neither one looks all that great, but I'd prefer the cleaner top ones over the artifact filled bottom ones regardless of what the resolution is.

Here's the kicker.

Both of you were right on the money.

The photos were the exact same, but the bottom ones were put into Photoshop and their sharpness and clarity fully maxed out to exaggerate the effect.

What I wanted to show was that the added readability could also be the result of somewhat more aggressive sharpening.
