Why aren't my recorded videos saving?

video recorded but not saved?

I have a Galaxy S3. Love it. When I record videos I have found that if you don't tap on the gallery button/window in the lower left corner of the screen, the video won't "save".
My friend video'd for me yesterday and when I went in to look at it, it was gone! She forgot to tap on that gallery button. Is there a way that I can find that video somewhere else? Thanks!

Well ... it's somewhere in storage. If the apps saves to the external SD card, PhotoRec can find it if you mount the card in a card reader and plug it into a PC. If it saves to internal storage, you can look for it, if you know what a video format looks like,m find the beginning and end of the video and use dd to write that out to a file. (If that sounded like gibberish to you, you'll need at least 6 months doing stuff like that 40 hours a week before you'll be able to understand how much work it is, let alone that you don't yet know enough to do it.)

So, for all practical purposes - no. A file not saved is a file that doesn't exist.
