Android Central Question

Hi,

I have a Levoto Tab 3 7' with Android 5.0.1

I go very often to the local library where I wish I could connect my tablet to the public WIFI. The problem is that the library's passwords are 6 letters long and my tablet doesn't offer me the possibility to validate the password before its length be at least 8 car. long.

Is there a way to go around that?

Thanks for the help.

Didier

I don't know much about those things, but it seemed a good and simple thing to do. But this time I was blocked by the 6 char. password...
Seems a bit hopeless. Any last idea?

Could you go to settings>network>wifi (or wherever it is on that tablet), long press on the wifi you can't connect to, then advanced options. Could you show us whats there?

Running out of ideas here, sorry mate. :(

You could try repeating those same steps (forget + add manually) while not in range of that network and see if it makes any difference. The strange thing is that when you select WEP security the save/connect button should be available after you enter the first password digit.

Try chanchan05 suggestion and see if you can get that information before connecting.

Other idea is going the offline way :) Look around, see who's connected with an Android phone and ask them how they managed to connect. I think iPhones have this 8+ characters limitation too, but not completely sure.

Nope, I had a look a couple time to see if I could find somebody using a tablet too. Couldn't. And thinking about it, I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone using one...
I will discuss the problem with another employee...
