Why can't we get top specs in a normal Size???

i think that HTC had the right idea with the One series: release high, mid and low level (One X, S, V) models at the same time and under the same brand.

the main issue with what happened though is that is release was limited to one carrier (T Mobile)

Wtf are you talking about fragmented the only difference in the s3 is radios  everything else is exactly the same. As for this argument you all assume that these "millions" of consumers give a flying **** about specs again spec and tech aware are a tiny tiny market compared to herp derp I need a cool smartphone we all know 3/4 of these people are normal consumers who know enought to get on the net and email they dont understand complex computing they dont need 1.5ghz quad core processors and 2gigs ram on their phone they just want a phone you all are a minority accept that you want change talk to oems get these supposed millions that you know who want high end tiny android phones to do the same untill you show me actual numbers proving people think like you your spouting crap for the sake of creating a non existent market so please prove me wrong because I promise a few thousand isnt a market please make my day

Wow get off your almighty horse and take a reality pill. You know the exact same amount about the market as him, me, or anyone else in this thread. And that is not much. Instead of demanding data that does not exist, why dont you provide some of your own. Or even point to a real example that proves your point instead of just condiming anyone that thinks differently than you do.

And while we are demanding crap that does not exist, YOU give ME the data that says everyone with a large phone loves the size of it and only wants bigger and would not be just as happy or happier with a slightly smaller devise.

I dont have to I never claimed anything about larger screen or smaller but look at whats being built logically if they are building larger screens there is a demand this is basic economics these oems do things for a reason they dont design some random phone and say build it they see what works and what doesnt they look at what the people want they find the price points at which people are willing to pay this isnt some conspiracy there is no evil CEO going muahahaha lets push this 4.8 inch phone and leave them with nothing else to choose from there is a science to it these guys look at trends and try to meet them or beat them how often do you see commercials touting hardware specs seldom if ever why because the common consumer doesnt care they hear buzz words quad core super amoled they dont know what it means half the time but it sounds cool if yall were a majority logicly they would build your phone because they could make enough off of it just like locked bootloaders we hate them we fight it but us root users are a small percentage most dont even know what a bootloader is so its an uphill battle I understand your needs but dont think that the market is flooded with like minded individuals such as yourself when its clearly not these companies make billions doing what they do so I doubt you would know better than them

Lets take it down a notch folks! Its just a friendly debate here...

With Apple you get small and smaller, your right.... and they sell millions and millions as a result of that and other factors as well. The problem is not that these smaller Android phones are not capable. The Inc4g is plenty capable as well at 4in. The problem is that they still manage to dramatically reduce specs and thus reduce the value to consumers. When you look at the spec list from the comparison review that you posted, every single spec from camera to battery to screen res to NFC is all downgraded simply because of screen size! You fail to see this. And customers see or hear about it and take from it that the manufacture does not stand behind this product as it does the big boys. And you alienate customers and a lot of them flock to iphone or accept the big devices, or stay resilient and buy the smaller ones with less specs. Lets not forget too... these phones are usually subsidized on 2 year contracts.... no one wants a phone thats outdated at purchase. 2 years is a long long time to be dealing with outdated or sub par specs. The One x is capable, but so is the new galaxy S3mini... so if the Razr M, so is the Droid Inc4g... thats completely and utterly not the point in this discussion. If capable was the new acceptable, then there would not be a spec race at all within the mobile phone community as a whole.

Apple sells millions and millions because its Apple. It's "trendy" to see that apple on the back of their phone.....and they do make a great product. But trust me, "trendy" sells a lot of phones. When the iphone becomes bigger, and it will, you will still see sales in the millions and millions.....probably even higher sales.

Companies don't just invent trendy products over night. It got that way for a reason... Think about it!

I agree. I've been wanting a 4" hero phone for the longest time. 4" HD display with a dual-core processor and 8 MP camera. I can't stress that enough. Most 4" phones now come with a 5 MP camera now. If anyone can find a phone with such specs let me know.

It got that way early on before bigger screens started hitting the market it stayed that way untill ip5 which clearly got... Bigger:eek:. Even apple realized they had to up their ante to stay competitive. But again screen size is not the only deciding factor in the millions of iPhone users yes its a big thing for some but most definitely not all

That was my goal with this thread; To bring this need to light in some way! The stubborn big phone supporters just keep watering down the argument. It almost seems as if they don't want choice since they downplay the need for a high end companct. Then again, sometimes these forums entice the devils advocate argumentive scheme.

lol.

With Android winning the marketshare battle, it's silly to call Apple "trendy".

The DROID RAZR line must be "trendy" too. There were reports it was outselling the iPhone at Verizon.

 no we are saying you are a tiny market and thats why we are trying to make you realize that whining here will do you no good again email oems about your needs because if you think that there are enough of you to justify the cost of making millions upon millions of these phones ( which I still highly doubt) then they will listen

Android flooded the smartphone market thats why we have the marketshare compare individual companies to apple though that gives you a bigger picture apple to many is a status symbol just as we at times feel android is

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2

It's a status symbol because its a device that looks nice, is built well, and feels right in the hand. Screen size is part of that equation... There's just no way around it.. Stop resisting the fact that size matters lol

There are a lot more factors that give Android the numbers over Apple. Especially price and availability. If you compared only flagship Android phones vs the iPhone, I think you'd see a better comparison. Also, trendy seems to me to be the perfect description, its not dominant, but it is very very popular in most highly visible circles.

Your right but Steve Jobs was a hell of a marketer....plus there were a lot of "i" products that set the stage for the iphone. I never had an ipod but I did get on board with an itouch and when I got it I was like.......wow...what a product. Then the iphone came out and even though I had decided I hated itunes at that point, I was eagerly waiting for my upgrade to come so I could still get one. But I just happened to work with a friend who had a nice big screen on his HTC Android........played with that a bit and was sold....never looked back. For me, the screen and freedom of choice was the key. Now my sister on the other hand (lol), is totally commited to Apple. Even though mine out performs her 4s (except for camera- her's kills the GN) she still sticks with Apple. Apple sells more than just a phone...they sell a culture. I love Android but Android is not there yet.

It's not that we don't want more choices, it's that we think there has not been shown sufficient demand by the consumer to justify producing one. I don't care one way of the other if someone makes a 4 inch superphone, I'm just pointing out market dynamics, customer feedback, and sourcing/supply chain logic. (Obviously general based, since I don't have internal info on it.) IF the OEM's thought they could get enough return off the project to make it, they would. To date, it appears that the research they do tells them that it's not worth it to produce on a large scale.

There's nothing silly about it. How many Android manufacturers and phone models are needed to be made to get those higher sales numbers?? You're comparing ONE phone made by ONE company to a multitude made by many. Of course Android will have more sales look at the number of phones on the market. Have you really met many iphone people who are totally into specs...some are but most that I know just love that silver Apple on the back. Again...its trendy. I'm not saying I buy into it. I hope I didn't hurt your feelings Ry...you're still trendy in my book man... ;)

I figured out why Apple is so "trendy!!" It's because skinny jeans are so trendy! Apple phones slip right into those tight skinny jeans!

So if you don't want the iphone.....----------> GET BIGGER JEANS !!!! :p
