If you can't see that the iphone is considered trendy and its like a whole culture of followers then I'm not sure how else to explain it. You can see it in their eyes....i"m surprised they all don't wear black turle necks with their skinny jeans.

It's not that we don't want more choices, it's that we think there has not been shown sufficient demand by the consumer to justify producing one. I don't care one way of the other if someone makes a 4 inch superphone, I'm just pointing out market dynamics, customer feedback, and sourcing/supply chain logic. (Obviously general based, since I don't have internal info on it.) IF the OEM's thought they could get enough return off the project to make it, they would. To date, it appears that the research they do tells them that it's not worth it to produce on a large scale.
There is going to be a point, IMO where people are going to get tired of these 4.5"+ phones. We're going that way because we've never been there. I fully expect 4.3" or 4.5" to be new "normal" again.
Personally, I've seen and heard a lot of buzz about the DROID RAZR M. Edge-to-edge, 4.3" screen in a small package that, except for minor differences with the camera (again, screen resolution and battery size are going to be different vs. it's bigger "brothers") is quite a compelling package.
But then again, there's this bigger is better mentality that could be tough to break. If you need to compensate, you need to compensate.
My old job gave out tablets and phones both run on data plans I dunno why they didnt just go with a phablet like the note there are plenty of reasons to use both smaller and larger screen devices its preference I think that if there was a high end smaller device more power to ya but I can hardly blame oem's if they dont think its worth it

Still a lot of people who aren't too big on 5+ inches, and it's probably safer to have separate devices for work as you will be able to use them independently, and if one is broken/lost/stolen, still get work done? Just an idea.
Social media like that works the same on both though what about what most people buy tabs for. Home use for web browsing, videos, games, basic little things like that the larger screen tablet makes for a better experience. And of course you use your phone more but your off track on the subject by bringing tablets into this

My persinal observation using a 4in phone and a 7in tablet is that i find myself using my phone more. What I've learned, speaking for myself of course, is that size doesn't equate better or enhanced communication.
Even if you're talking about social media like Facebook, instagram, twitter, etc...
