No, because android brand rivalry has been around as long as there has been more than 1 oem

Well this has escalated quickly whilst I was sleeping and I see it's been moved as well haha fun times 😊

I have noticed a lot of the Samsung defenders use the note n not galaxy series ....wonder why that is haha and I repeat my problem is with the galaxy series and their poor build quality and same design, not to mention the useless UI (in my opinion) and yes I have used these devices before so I have some basis for my opinion of which I am perfectly entitled to share on a public forum as is everyone else with theirs on here.....

Another typical Samsung hater.
Don't you guys have a job/college? These guys spend more time hating on samsung than loving their own phone.
Go check with a doctor if you have inferiority complex because of a Samsung device.

Yes I have a job kids and a life thank you and I definitely don't have an inferiority complex towards any device I know I'm better and I have also heaped praise on my current phone in these forums (mainly because it's better in every way bar one...)

I have a GS3 and am totally happy with my rooted device using a launcher other than TouchWiz (don't like TouchWiz then replace it - Doh!)

Right just to respond my point wasn't about HTC in general it was about the sheep like mentality of ooooh it's a Samsung I must buy it rather than looking at the 4-5 better devices that exist (Sony z2 HTC one m8 LG g2 and g3 or even nexus 5 over in UK anyway don't really know if there are others available in US? Moto X maybe?) And in regards to the person who posted every manufacturer ever it wasn't the use of plastic it was the use of flimsy cheap feeling plastic that I was on about

And finally to ^^^ if you actually prefer cheap feel over premium then fine but since u have felt the need to compare the 2 I thought I should respond

I'll give u the camera it's a fairly divisive subject and probably the phones only weak point but how many people actually carry around a spare battery just in case this phone will last me easily a days use I'm in work for 7 n sometimes not home till 5.30 and it regularly leaves me with 30/40% battery with moderate use in work so why would I want to risk breaking the flimsy back plastic changing a battery over regularly? And who actually changes their battery over on a regular basis. Wireless charging although would be a fun gimmick to have seems to provide no real advantage over say ooooh plugging a cable in...the design is 10 times more premium but yes the phone is a little tall but not so uncomfortably tall that you can't use it.

And on a previous point I have not got an opinion with the note range of phones either way as I'm sure I have stated in another post as I haven't used them and have actually heard good things about them this is purely about the galaxy s range

And if I feel the need to vent my opinion on a FORUM I can do so if it offends u just move on

Good morning from the UK people 😊

Maybe if you pop the back off the phone with a thumbnail instead of a crowbar you wouldn't have troubles with it. I pop the back off my phone fairly regularly and have never had a problem.

No kinda different causing a public disturbance and starting an online forum thread for the hell of it really....

Been using my newish (2 days old) S5 since 2AM and don't see what ANY of the hate is about. It rests in a Tech 21 Impact case with BodyGuardz tempered glass. Looks good (IMO), works great (IMO) and is a nice compliment and little sister to my newish Note 3. ...I see no reason to be less than ecstatic.

Is it a giant marketing thing or are the general public that stupid ?? I've used the s2 and s3 and didn't get it back then. The design is awful they all look pretty much the same, they feel cheap and plastic for an apparent high end phone and even the UI looks tacky I'm sorry but when paying this money aesthetics matter, especially when the internals are fairly similar at this level. I just think it's laziness on behalf of the consumer who'll buy one just coz its a Samsung....

(I'm removing the note series from this as I've never used or held one to make any judgement)

So, according to your intelligent view of the world and its' population:

1. Only Samsung engages in "giant marketing", unlike Apple, Sony and every major consumer electronics firm on the planet. Check!

2. You disdain a company's entire line of offerings based upon your singular and limited "use[d]" of dated model(s) as the S2 and S3; and absolutely no experience with any of their latest offerings, such as the S4, S5, Note 2, nor Note 3. The likes of which has revamped the notion of cell phone, specifically the notion of 'Handheld' computing, and is decimating the competition, namely Apple by out innovating it.

I challenge your definition and assertion of "better". There is nothing presently on the market "better" than the combination of a Note 3 and a Zerolemon 10,000 mAh battery. What phone provides equal or better computing power AND virtually unlimited/uncompromised daily (turn on ALL functions and settings) usage?

The only considerations would be, the S4 with a Zerolemon 7500 mAh battery, and a S5 with a Zerolemon 7500 mAh battery. I would also add with minor reservation, the Note 3 with either its oem 3000 mAh and the S4 with Zerolemon 3000 mAh (oem replacement) battery (more power packed into the same oem form factor). All of which will provide 24 hour, single charge heavy use. The exception being the Note 3/oem which will provide moderate 24 hour single charge use.

Of course, most of the above phone combos require the use of a Zerolemon case to hold the battery and provide protection given the Zerolemon batteries add considerable weight and size.

Now, admittedly, one would have to be as "STUPID" (emphasis added) as I, to value total and thoughtless use and function (specifically over a 24 to 72 hour period) greater than "asthetics".

Personally, I've got work to do, edeavors to pursue, and places to go. I need a mobile tool not a mobile jewel! Tools (real value) are better than jewels (subjective value).

I must also add that Samsung alone provides with its Note series singular and unique usage and efficiencies as a consequence of its "stylus"; as well as the "multiwindow" feature of the S4, S5, and Note series (phone and tablet).

Though partly highlighted above, it needs to be stated that I value a plastic back poviding access and replacement of, the battery, sd card and sim card. Adding further the capability to extend function, capability and efficiency.

But then I am just "stupid" as my purchase of three Note 3s and an S4 greatly attests. NOT!

Stupid? Really? Asthetics? Really? I love my 'brick' (Note 3+Zerolemon), as unasthetic as it gets and would not trade it for anything presently on the market. The combo gets me (and others) THREE days of heavy poweruser useage.

Not even for SAMSUNG's upcoming curved screen phone would I trade. Damn that Samsung they just keep innovating! Nawww, gotta be the "marketing", right? 😜

Now, beat that with your asthetic phone!

After having 5 iPhones. I liked the bigger screen of the S5. And I like the Plastic cover you referred to.
Makes putting a Micro SD card in very easy. And if you want to change your battery. It makes it easy too.
If you didn't have the plastic case on the back it would make it a lot more difficult.
If you got a Battery case on your phone incase you dropped it. You wouldn't even notise the plastic case you talk about.

Buy a iPhone and change the battery. See what is involved. or put a Sd card in it. Oh wait it don't have a place for a SD card.
They are only gonna take technology so fast. And come out with new things so fast. So they can save it for new devices for you to buy.

Got used to the operating system on the Android pretty fast.

Think you are bored with your phone.
I do not live on my phone. I use it for what I need it for.
Have a lot of other hobbies. And the Samsung phone just adds to them .

The S5 clearly works quite well for millions upon millions of its owners while adding beneficial features. ...even with that fact some believe the different choice that THEY made is somehow objectively better. We humans can be quite interesting at times.

Hi5 to the sV

Right for a start off and for the 700000th time I'm not including the note series in my comments as I have not used these devices and like I've already said have heard good things about them (a few people on here have commented that the note series is the better range of Samsung phones)

Secondly although yes I have only used the s2+3 in any detail I have recently briefly used an s5 and not liked my experience with it at all and don't like the lack of any innovation design wise. My comments are not aimed at you specifically as it looks like the phone(s) fit what you're looking for , they are aimed more at the sheep mentality of buying a phone purely because of brand and not because of the quality of the device or without making an effort to look at what's available and my dislike of the general look and feel (touchwiz is awful imo ) of the phone (personally I think it looks and feels quite cheap)

So tl:dr version is that people who don't want to add considerable weight and size don't have valid tastes?

The Samsung love almost became as immature as the Samsung hate. How nice.

I really do agree though, Samsung makes a lower quality device than most OEMs. It wasn't so much the case with the S1 and S2 but since the S3 they haven't really put a whole lot into their work. Hell, the ATT Variant of the Galaxy S is still, in my opinion, their best quality phone to date. They pack specs into a subpar shell and people buy it because, "Octa-core processor" Despite not knowing the benefits or the fact that it's really just two quad core processors. Honestly though, I hate their joke of a service team even more than their devices. Then again, I'm used to the exceptional service of Nokia.

So know you switch it up, you were generally saying before how those who get Samsung devices are sheep and now we have informed forum members buying and using Samsung devices and now everyone else besides them are sheep. I don't think you can generalize at all or should in the first place, that's why this "hate" thread is falling around you, you can't make up your mind as to what your argument is and you change the parameters of it throughout the thread.

They haven't put a whole lot into their work? Which company in the past couple years offseated Nokia as the biggest phone manufacturer in the world? Who is the only company outside of Apple to sell millions of individual smartphone products? Who is the company that has some of the best devices on the market and will have the best accessories available out of any OEM outside of Apple? Hint: It's starts with an S. You don't get as big as they did sitting on your bum.
