Why do people buy Samsung Galaxy Phones?

I've been at this for a while and have had more phones than most. I'm no expert, however, IMO. Of all the phones I've had the G2 and iPhone S5 prolly seemed that the highest quality. ...but I think I've enjoyed the Note 2 & 3 the most. I really like this S5, however, it does seem like a great phone with a lot of functionality and features. ...and it's water proof and dust proof. I like it.

The only thing that stops me from getting an S5 is because I have small hands so I continue to use my Razr M until a suitable replacement can be found. The S5 is one of the most compelling smartphones on the market and I hope water resistance becomes a trend.

They haven't put a whole lot into their work? Which company in the past couple years offseated Nokia as the biggest phone manufacturer in the world? Who is the only company outside of Apple to sell millions of individual smartphone products? Who is the company that has some of the best devices on the market and will have the best accessories available out of any OEM outside of Apple? Hint: It's starts with an S. You don't get as big as they did sitting on your bum.

No, they didn't. They got that big by releasing the first high end Android smartphone that was available on pretty much every major carrier in the world and sticking to a brand that, after that point, everyone knew as a household name. Honestly, do you feel that any other OEM has a specific phone that's become a household name? Nokia understands the necessity of this with the Lumia series but it's somewhat small. LG kinda went there with the Optimus series but that's mostly gone. HTC... I don't know where half of their names come from. Samsung has brand recognition from when they put Android on the map, they have specs that they can brag about and they have gimmicks by the ton.

So know you switch it up, you were generally saying before how those who get Samsung devices are sheep and now we have informed forum members buying and using Samsung devices and now everyone else besides them are sheep. I don't think you can generalize at all or should in the first place, that's why this "hate" thread is falling around you, you can't make up your mind as to what your argument is and you change the parameters of it throughout the thread.

I have said previously my problem is with the sheep mentality I would scroll back through n find it but cba if he's made an informed decision then fine but buying it coz it's the new galaxy s isn't a reason really it's just crowd following

So that means they aren't lazy. Thank you for agreeing with me.

And? If they were buying crappy phones, then I would see a problem, by they are buying Samsung flagships which without a doubt are some of the best smartphone on the market, so what is the real issue here?

I buy Samsung phones because it seems they are one of the few if not the only manufacturer out there that has replaceable battery's and expandable memory slots. Batteries degrade over time and when that happens it's nice to be able to swap it with a new one.

Nope. But hey opinions.

Samsung, to me, is where Apple was for the past 3-4 years. They stopped releasing anything new aside from one gimmick and a faster processor/better screen each year. Little, if anything else.

Shows how much they matured then. I mean it is Android. Android itself has matured. It's remarkable Samsung keeps coming up with new features every year.

There's only so much that can be done with smartphones today. They are quite mature so there's not gonna be blockbuster features in every year in every iteration. That fact doesn't mean that OEMs are slacking or uninnovative it means there's just not much to add while still keeping price points reasonable. The curved screens? Who REALLY cares? Folks want great screens, good battery life, and great performance. IME, Samsung, LG, HTC, Motorola, and Apple are doing this already.

Android has matured, impressively so. Samsung hasn't so much though. You could just as easily use a GS3 as a GS5 and not care about the few minute changes.

There is a lot of stuff they added between the two, stop that please. It's one thing not to like them, but to make up stuff is not good. They don't even have the same UI between the two. The S5 touchwiz is a lot cleaner and lighter.

You'll notice the camera quality difference immediately. Especially in low light.

It's not necessarily ugly, just cheap feeling.

The s3 to s4, the FFC actually got worse with minimal improvements to the rear and the S5 still can't keep up with the low light shots on my ancient Lumia 920. I'm not convinced. Oh, can't forget the fingerprint scanner that doesn't ever work.

My S5's fingerprint scanner works consistently well everytime I use it and I don't believe my S5 to be "special". Making things up is dishonest to say the least.

Hmm, Business Insider, Engadget, Cnet, several members here, tons of users on youtube and many other venues seem to disagree. Perhaps you just have an exceptionally easy to read fingerprint or something.
