Why do people buy Samsung Galaxy Phones?

Microsoft isn't exactly going for broke and we now have phones coming out on 8 new OEMs. Pretty exciting times. A lot of OEMs want an OS they don't have to put more into than Google does to make it functional and it's starting to show.

I knew you'd walk into that one, thanks for countering your own argument :-)
So MS has plenty of resources to develop WP you say. From other departments. And they STILL can't break out of single digits?? That's just pathetic.
Your last point is just so messed right up I don't know if you said it with a straight face. MS has carried all the weight for WP because they have to or it would fail even harder. Imagine what a joke android would be if Google had to buy the largest oem making it just to keep the OS alive. Like Nokia.

You mean like how they bought Motorola then completely forgot it existed? They essentially have one OEM. Nokia. Samsung and HTC make Windows Phones to avoid the fees they'd be paying on Android if they didn't since Microsoft makes a fortune off all of the crap Android borrows from them. Try going to a race 3 years late and tell me how you do.

Motorola isn't the Nokia of android nice try. But that doesn't matter does it. What matters to you is that every topic is wp vs android regardless of how much your attempts get facerolled by everyone.

I passively brought up the 1020 because it's the best camera phone at present. You made it more than it was. The post compared the Moto E, you didn't mention that at all. This thread is about Sammy's shortcomings. I addressed a major one.

Lol bull. Shall we take a tally of how many times you've mentioned nokia in this thread? Anyone have a shovel?

How would a shovel help you in tallying? Several other OEMs are compared as well. I bring a different option to the table than HTC and LG and occasionally Motorola.

Right, and you don't have a history of creating WP vs Android posts. Everyone knows what you're doing, you clearly think you're being clever or subtle but sorry to burst your bubble you're not.

I've created threads highlighting the shortcomings of Android. You or JeffDenver like to come in and say stuff like, "Well, at least Android does..." or some such point at which point there is some back and forth. No big deal. The one thread I created specifically to highlight the benefits of each was the choice between a Windows 8 tablet and an Android tablet. I genuinely wanted to know if there were any benefits and Android tablet might present over a Windows 8 tablet.

Oh wow, you are way off base in two threads.

Besides a less confusing OS and more modern and popular apps from the app store directly, and by average a much lower price and being able to tap into the ever popular Google Services, I guess there is little benefits.

You've created posts and threads full of misinformation, got schooled pretty handily by everyone, went over to WPC to stir the pot by linking that thread to here and saying we were all deluded, which resulted in moderator intervention. On both sites nonetheless! If we're going to talk real, then let's talk real. You have an agenda, and I'll repeat what I said when you first started all of this: you're a wp convert who's obviously incredibly insecure about your conversion which is so obvious anyone with a psychology degree bought off the back of a truck could see it. Do you honestly think you're the first unique special snowflake who's done what you're doing on forums? It's been done before, numerous times. And thanks for noticing me and Jeff, but you're downplaying the contribution of all the others who've been refuting you.

In regards to Samsung, one of the biggest things stopping me from wanting one of their phone is the physical buttons.
I just don't like them for anything other than sleep and volume.
And sure, I think touchwiz is ugly, but it's not like that can be changed. I mean it is an android phone after all.

Have you considered a Nokia windows phone?
I kid, I kid.
Agreed on physical home buttons, not my cup of tea either

I do actually like how pretty Nokia with WP8 is, but the biggest thing holding me back there is how weird it is to do stuff. I don't know, though. Perhaps I'd like it if I used it a whole lot.
Right now smartphones aren't an option for me, so most of this is conjecture anyway.

I like how Verizon stamps their name on the Sammy home button! Lol

Yeah... The 5C is definitely a higher quality than the jank you get with the galaxy S series. It's almost on par with the Lumia series polycarbonate.

Oh, and Samsung fanboys were around much earlier than the GS3. They've been around since the Galaxy S series put Android on the map.

The galaxy s series did not put samsung on the map. The Droid line did. The original galaxy line was awful and most users hated samsung for it (back when htc was the king of android)

They still have to pay even if they make WP devices. That is one of the main reasons MS makes more off android then they ever would off of WP.

Just a heads up, the Mod team would appreciate it if we toned down and backed away from the obvious " ganging up " on individuals within the thread. Its very clear you don't all share the same views and there is some extensive situations that go behind these forums.

Rectifying this situation is very simple, please report the posts in question and allow the Mod team to handle things. Do not take things to a personal level and ridicule ANY member regardless of the situation. Some of you have received PM's from me explaining things and giving you the opportunity to turn things around and I hope you take my advice seriously instead of challenging it.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend/holiday.

The Droid line was Motorola. So no. No it didn't The droid line was a Verizon exclusive and had passable marketing that was memorable. HTC was never really king of Android after the G1/Dream. Once Motorola stole the spotlight, HTC never really got it back. It was passed from them to the Samsung Galaxy S which was widely regarded as the first real iPhone alternative since most OEMs were still trying to make these complex and ridiculous designs work where Samsung just kinda copied what worked. The Galaxy S series certainly wasn't hated. It was an international hit. Your info is generally wrong.

Nope, no licensing fees on any Windows device smaller than nine inches screen space.

There's a native google play client that is actually much better than the official Google play store on BBOS devices. I think they call it Droid Store or something. You can install your Google services via APK or through this system with great ease.

I've yet to post misinformation. Just because you don't see the lag doesn't mean it's not there. I do post about Android's flaws often in hopes that they might improve it because I would like the OS to mature in terms of user experience to the point that I could use it again. It'd be pleasant. They're making progress with Project Svelte but that just trimmed the fat. Clean it up a little bit and make it a better social OS and odds are I will be sold.
