It's just the general public, especially the murrican one, are really dumb, naive, blind and sheep, while the other markets just copy murricans. Plus, samsung.ha has done a good job making people want one, just like iPhones.

I like my Note 3 and S5 because it is awesome...to me. Between the two of them there is very little I cannot do very well.

I choose Samsung because I like TouchWiz. Stock android is boring.

I like my Note 3 and my girlfriend likes here S5. People like different things. My Note 3 hasn't had any issues since I picked it up at launch.

I'm on my third Samsung Galaxy Note 3. My first two had proximity sensor issues. My perspective of Samsung's quality droped down a few notches after that. That said, I still love and appreciate my galaxy note 3.

I have had the S3, S4, Note 2 and now the Note 3. During that same time I have had numerous other android phones from HTC, Motorola and LG. I have also had Blackberry and Window's Phones as well as iPhone 4s, 5 and 5s. I have liked something about almost all of the phones, but the two phones that I keep around are the Note 3 and my wife and daughter use iPhones. As much as I don't care for the look of TW I find that using Nova Launcher solves that problem. I actually like the feel of the Note 3 with and without a case. I really thought that the M8 might pull me away, but I still ended up back with my Note 3. I am just more productive on the Note series than any other phone I have tried. I use most of the functions and I have found that the more you use the "gimmicks", the more you realize that they can be useful. I don't know that I will experiment with anything else until the Note 4 and new iPhone comes out. Apple would really have to do something special to take me away from the Note line though.

Considering the Prime will be out soon, the plastic argument will be a moot one anyway - even Samsung appears to be admitting a lot of people take construction materials into consideration. But yeah, they should've taken that whole magazine UX much farther than they did on the software side. At least they're making more of an effort to stop interbreeding a mish mash of gingerbread, ICS, and JB design elements. It's a start.

What about people who felt they needed/wanted removable battery and sd card? Up until this year, samsung was really the only android manufacturer putting both of those into their devices. Yes you have some "blind fanboys" but most of the general public gets a phone that works for them and have no clue what "stock android is" nor do they really care.

Samsung fanboys did not even exist till around the time the GS3 came out, and by then Samsung was already a thing. So yeah, I think it was the actual phone specs, not the name or marketing, that made Samsung popular.

Yeah... The 5C is definitely a higher quality than the jank you get with the galaxy S series. It's almost on par with the Lumia series polycarbonate.

Oh, and Samsung fanboys were around much earlier than the GS3. They've been around since the Galaxy S series put Android on the map.
