Why do people hate the Galaxy S5?

Why do people hate the s5?

Well high 5 sammy, if you don't have haters, you are doing something wrong ;)

What I REALLY like about TW that I use daily and that I feel should be standard on all Android devices is the 'swipe left to message' and 'right to call on contacts'. I use it so much in fact that it might be a problem if my next device doesn't have it. I'm running Wicked Sensations rom on my S3 because its a TW based rom.

I always forget about this option but I seem to swipe on accident when I don't need to use it. /fail on my part

One thing I really enjoy on Samsung phones, specifically the Note, is multitasking. I didn't think much of it and sure I can live without it but its so nice to be able to Hangout with my brother while running a YouTube video.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (Verizon)

It didn't really mater your always going to get people who will dislike a handsets for whatever reason.

1) it's to big and I can't use it, we'll your not obligated to purchase a bigger handset and there are many many smaller ones available lol

2) it's full of bloat, well for some the features are good and for others not necessary, don't buy it buy another as this won't change as dramatically as you would expect it's the Samsung way but in this S5 it does have a more refined look and that's a step in the right direction.

3)it's the Same as the S4 well No same shape but has been tweaked so it's an upgrade probably not what many were expecting, but a good saying "with expectation always comes with disappointment".

4) Some just like to post that they hate it and then when released and it has great reviews, they make a purchase and views are changed.

It's always going to happen and no manufacturer is going to make the one phone to rule them all well apart from Samsung with the Note 3 lol

It's all subjective and open to ones personal opinion to which they are fully entitled to as long as it makes sense lol

Re: Why do people hate the S5?

Then why buy a SAMSUNG device? I mean yeah you could flash a ROM, but it makes zero sense when people praise samsung, say all this good stuff, but have a stock rom flashed.

Some people like TouchWiz.

I know, it's sounds like a myth to some others.

But many people simply prefer it. The features are useful and in areas that others don't tend to look.

I had an iPhone 5S. I know people with Ones. In cold environments those metal phones get super cold and shut themselves down routinely. I've never had that happen with any of my Samsung phones.

The cameras on Samsung phones have been all around better as well, except maybe the S3 vs the One X. I heard HTC is putting 5MP cameras on the M8 which is still not detailed enough when you're far from the target in the shot and need to crop.

What's "innovative" about the camera?

It is the first smartphone to sport Phase Detection Auto Focus, something which is only found in DSLR's. It also has the worlds fastest auto focus on a smartphone at 0.3 .seconds and is the first phone on the market to sport ISOCELL tech. Real Time HDR and HDR Video are also firsts on the S5.

Shall I continue? IMO this is pretty innovative.

I wasn't aware of some of those, but they aren't the first with real time HDR photos. Ok, maybe the first phone, but not the first device.

I would consider the phase detection to be pretty innovative for phones. Not sure about auto focus, though, that's just progress IMO.

Re: Why do people hate the S5?

This is what I think :

-Most of the haters are bunch of insecure fanboys who are about to explode in forums and comments
-They hate it and want others to hate it too (pathetic attitude)
-Hoping to "convince themselves" how their purchase is better

This is how most of the hatred goes around the forums :
I can say that "Galaxy S5 looks cheap" and actually that is a very well written argument when it comes to pure objectivity but I actually never care about looks when it comes to my smartphone , So I basically used an objective statement to reflect my hatred even though I am not bothered by it subjectively.

Hatred appears to be valid but many-a-times , its quite irrational.

At the end of the day , People will be buying Galaxy S5's and enjoying their devices while haters will be drooling over the forums and comments to hate it without enjoying their non-galaxy s5 purchase.

That's quite a bold assertion to make, particularly when you fail to back it with logic. Many people--like myself--have never owned a Galaxy S device. Yet, many people--like myself--enjoy the devices actually owned. I've enjoyed my Incredible, Galaxy Nexus, One, and Nexus 5. I enjoy those devices regardless of the Galaxy S line, and I presume plenty of others just like me exist. And I will continue to do so, regardless of my opinion of any other device.

I can agree with dmmarck on this one. The Galaxy S5 is going to sell like hot cakes... there is no question about that. I have owned both a Galaxy S3 and S4 as well as a Note 2 so I have had my fair share of the Galaxy line of devices. That being said, I will not be waiting to jump on someone loving their S5 just because I don't have one. I current have a Nexus 5 and will continue to use it until something much more innovative comes out. If the S line thrills you, great buy one. You cannot boldly assume that EVERYONE is drooling over the S5... isn't that why Android has different variations and OEMs?

I love how you quickly felt so offensive about the statement.I am assuming that you assumed that I am intending to say "non-galaxy users" (i.e iPhone users , Nexus or HTC etc.).

Not at all , It can be Galaxy S3 users or Galaxy S4 users or even non-galaxy users , it could be anyone , right ?

Let me straighten up things with a nice example ,
When 4S launched , I saw so many iPhone 4 users hating it in forums and comments saying "its same" and also many other non-iPhone users as well.

Infact , 4S is better version of iPhone 4 in terms of basics and also features but nope , people wanted new design and wanted something shiny.
If Apple called it iPhone 5 , would it have solved the problem ?

People just use excuses to hate.

Why hate something you are not going to buy anyway ?

For example , I bought iPad 3 when it was in iOS 5 , then I had no issues with iOS 6 and I had issues when iOS 7 came out , So I complained about it and left frustrated at bugs and performance etc. but I never complained about it or used any excuse to hate it (before I used the device but only after)

I bought a WP and issues were quite basic and people kept saying "wait for next update" and I moved on to Android and posted a long frustration post.

People never even touched the device or used it in real life. How valid is the hatred ?

I specifically used the word "haters" :

People will be buying Galaxy S5's and enjoying their devices while haters will be drooling over the forums and comments to hate it

I only assumed what you wrote, and what you wrote was both confusing and generally illogical. Do not take my response to mean that I am offended, as my feelings could not possibly be impacted by a silly online disagreement over devices.

The quoted examples help, but still, it's a shaky proposition (at best).

Actually in iPad example , I meant to say that :
I never complained or hated before using something in real life.

Someone's use or non-use of something should not (and does not) automatically disqualify their opinions from having merit. Humans are highly subjective creatures.
