Why do you prefer the Android OS over iOS?

iOS is disorganised, apps are all over the place whereas Android has app drawer and the home-screens can be tidy.
With iOS you cant change the settings, with android you can you use so many different launchers and change the looks everyday

I feel IOS users like the simplicity of the OS - not much to do, it just works.

Android is open to customization and exploration of the OS.

I am an explorer.

For me, it wasn't even the simplicity. I spend my time in apps and on notifications so the customization is super low on my list.

I'm basically 1:1 with the apps and games on iOS and Android with the notable exception being the iOS-only app that my company makes which was the driving factor for me switching to iOS as my daily driver.

The last app I sideloaded on Android was a GCam port.

Well said! It's the truth. It'll never change.

I agree with you, and it’s the truth. That’s why I said ‘Well said’. Plus the point was put across very well lol

Lol. For sure, sorry if it seemed like I was just repeating what you said.

for me personally I feel iOS is for people that like to be told what to do, and what they're going to like. there is no room for growth... unlike android where growth happens a lot. it is like I told an iOS fan boy the other day... Android invents.. iOS refines the invention and caters it to its users and tells them what's inventive, despite android developing it originally.

personally I go back and forth between the two, but I prefer android. theres something about making a device mine that is awesome.

I see what you are saying - I think that iOS is for users who don't want to change things up. They want something that "just works" - something they don't have to tweak or configure. Both platforms have their advantages and disadvantages, IMO.

You make is sound as though iOS users are gullible and stupid. Android does not invent everything. It certainly has more choice but it’s not Einstein.

I agree with this totally.

I agree, though I get the gist of what he means. Android devices will typically (yes, there are exceptions) be the first to introduce new features, Apple will wait and tweak them a bit before releasing them on their iPhones and calling that feature “the best/fastest/most whatever on a phone”, put some fancy marketing name on it, maybe take credit for its ‘invention’...you know the drill.

Point is (in recent years), most new features on smartphones have been made and introduced on Androids first. Triple/quad camera setups, 90/120hz displays, in display fingerprint sensors, waterproofing and OLED displays to name just a few.

Not to say that Apple doesn’t innovate. We can thank the iPhone for modern smartphones and app stores, as well as dual camera setups.

Did Android invent or do they produce displays? I could be wrong but I didn’t think so.
I believe Nokia has a phone with a 8 or 9 lens setup. Those are just gimmicks. Doesn’t Zeiss produce these cameras? Apple and Google partner with these companies to produce features for their phones.
I will agree that Android puts more features in their phones quicker while Apple waits until they are perfected. I use both so not a fanboy of either.

I agree with you (I thought about talking about the new Nokia 9 and its 5 cameras, but they’re and the setup are not mainstream, popular or any good). That’s why I said ‘triple camera setups’...which Apple followed with the iPhone 11 Pro.

As for the OLED displays...they were ‘introduced’ (not invented) first on Androids etc.

I would say that sometimes Apple is late to the party though...fast charging, triple camera setups etc were already excellent before Apple introduced them. Fast-charging in particular.

I see they’re working on something with satellite communications. I think in the background they’re always working on or perfecting things. They certainly don’t put it out until they’re happy though. As far as first they rarely are.

I currently have an s10 and iPhone 11 pro , when you get bored android allows you to completely change the look of the phone..iPhone now has dark mode(which is a big improvement in ios imo). Ios does a better job at preserving the battery by stopping apps in the background, with ios I really don't even think about closing down apps but with android I obsess over closing stuff out and clearing out the cache occasionally to get max battery life. I feel like apps in ios are more polished , not to say the android ones are crap.. I have a few off the wall apps for ham radio on both phones and found I liked the android versions better.

If you have a huge music collection ripped to your computer or photo collection and transfer it to the iPhone through iTunes it's a pia, with android just plug into a pc and drag and drop… imessage, it's the beast android has yet to slay...it just works, especially if you have a bunch of iPhone contacts. Overall I considering ios simplistic and recommend it to people who aren't tech savvy , however the price of iphones turns people off when android phones can be dirt cheap and basically do the same thing with more freedom... in todays world both systems are really close overall . I despise google as a company, anti freedom unethical practices imo and which is why I still carry an iPhone otherwise I would probably switch back to android solely.

Imo, the difference is choice. If you like using apples os, you better like their hardware too.
Android on the other hand..
