GPS and data keeps turning on and off.

Is anyone having troubles or problems with their GPS and signal problem on their samsung galaxy S6? Like it turning itself on and off and being unresponsive? I'm currently in Kansas city MO and it kept being unreliable. If anyone could help troubleshoot me. That would be very appreciative.

re:

How do you know GPS is turning on and off? It's normal to see the GPS icon come and go, because it only turns on when an app needs it.

Can you describe the signal problems in more detail? When you say it becomes unresponsive, do you mean the phone freezes, or that it doesn't pick up any mobile data signal?

re:

When I was using Google maps to find a store or places to go in Kansas city MO. I have AT&T network. It would show I have 3 bar or 2 bar on my network coverage and then my 4GLte would drop. And here's the thing my girlfriend iPhone 5s, who's also a AT&T network she never had any problems with gets. She would have 4-5 bars and no drop of her network coverage. I was getting very frustrated. Then sometimes when I just browse or make calls around downtown Kansas city MO it would drop signal and automatically put be in emergency calls only. I try to CCleaner apps, close all apps and restart it several times. It when I boot it up it would not load my signal at times. Let's just say I was at a point about to slam this Samsung Galaxy S6 to the ground and stomp it. Luckily my girl calmed me down.

I was using Google maps while on a road trip to Kansas city MO. Everything worked fine until I got into Kansas city MO. Everything went downhill. First I wasn't able to load anything from Facebook, youtube, nor a browser. I noticed signal would drop from 4-5 bars to 1-2 bars even at the tallest part of the hotel I was staying at. Second the 4GLte would show its on but when loading any apps. It would take forever to load. But here's the thing my girlfriend who, perffered Apple products her iPhone 5s was completely fine she had no network problem, no signal drop, no call/receiving trouble unlike me. We're both on AT&T too. Third, I use CCleaner app to clean up the rams and close all the apps, and restarted my phone. And still was giving me problems. It would boot up then with no signal bars and 4glte network. It would automatically put be in emergency calls only even when It's off. I was so close of breaking this phone and stomp at it out if frustration. I feel like my Samsung Galaxy S6 is defective. But as of right now it isn't acting up since I came back. I asked around folks around Kansas city of they're having some sort of issues with there AT&T they all say they weren't so I no it isn't AT&T. It's the phone I think. I'm thinking of rebooting it.

re:

So it sounds like more of a network reception issue, rather than a GPS radio issue. I'd bring the phone to your local AT&T store and describe the problem to them. They might want to try a new SIM card.

I called customer care and got a hold of AT&T technical support. I described him everything that had happened to me. He looked into the area of Kansas city MO. And noticed there were a few degraded radio tower and mine was the lucky one to snag in it. He said you probably reboot it several times and it didn't help much. And I replied 'yes. I even tried to wipe cache and still no go. But when I came back to my home state everything was fine.' He said 'if this ever happened call us immediately on another phone and we'll reboot your phone and signal to a better tower around the area.' He went into more details saying they were fixing some towers that has been reported area the area. I never thought of asking a new Sims card. Mine was still new when I first got my S6 in March. But I'll remember next time though. Thanks for helping though. Much appreciate it!

Re:

Talk to AT&T again. Ask them if it's time to try a new SIM.

I took it to device technical support. And switch to Sims card. I thought it would be fixed but then my girl called me and it didn't went through and while I talked she couldn't hear me. So I did a reset factory at AT&T device technical support. So I'm trying it out today. Hopefully this fix it.
