Why don't I have sound on my Samsung Galaxy S4 when I have an incoming call or messages?

Why does NOT my Samsung Galaxy S4 sound when incoming call or messages

The message sound and incomming call ringtone has stopped sounding.
1. The ringtone and message tone are turned on.
2. The laudspeaker works when playing music etc.
3. When I go to "change ringtone" and click on a selectable sound-file nothing is played!
4. If I browse to a sound file (not via change ringtone) and select it for play it it will sound.
5. Model GT-19506
6. Android version 5.0.1

What could be wrong!

Welcome to Android Central! Does this persist after a reboot? How about a cache partition wipe? http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-5744
