Why haven't I received the Android Lollipop update yet for my Galaxy S5 (SM G900F)?

Re: Didn't received android lollipop update yet for my galaxy s5 (SM G900F)

If I flash the South African firmware, I would have to manually update every time much like the UK firmware. Would there be any benefit to flashing a slightly newer version? I feel like the easier option is better?

The U.K. firmware is currently the most up-to-date and has Smart Manager and the Stagefright security patch. Both this and the S.A. firmware will require manual updates. Israel firmware should be updated soon.

I have the same problem i can't update my Galaxy S5 can you help me ?

Hello and welcome to Android Central icov0407!

Hi I also haven't received the lollipop 5.0 update on my s5. Currently I'm on 4.4.2 KitKat. When I check for updates, it tells me that the device is up to date.

Hello and welcome to Android Central Rakman06!

You have the regional model of galaxy S5, the G900i, for Australia Csc code XSA and Product code XSA. The latest firmware for this is...

Model SM-G900I
Model name GALAXY S5
Country Australia
Version Android 5.0
Changelist 5543425
Build date Mon, 31 Aug 2015 03:50:14 +0000
Product code XSA
PDA G900IDVU1BOH4
CSC G900IXSA1BOG1

You are currently on NC7 firmware for Android 4.4.2 which, according to Samsung's records has never been released for this CSC and Product code and could account for missing out on the last 6 updates. For reasons this may occur, see #1.10 of 41 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide

You can either take your phone to the nearest Samsung Service Point and ask them to flash the latest firmware for you or you can download the latest stock Samsung firmware for your model, CSC and Product code, as linked above, and flash it to your phone by carefully following the instructions and video contained in the links of #1.11 of the aforementioned guide.

Thanks for your reply! If I flash lollipop onto my phone, will it still search for updates over OTA, for example marshmallow?

Will it also void the KNOX warranty, If I flash the software?

Flashing stock Samsung firmware for your model of phone, CSC/Product codes, (as opposed to rooting and custom ROMs and recoveries), via Odin, will not trip your Knox flag.

You have the international model, G900F, for the U.A.E. on CSC code XSG. Since you are not showing a Product code, it could be that your phone has had a different firmware flashed to it as NC9 was never released for your XSG CSC code. You are on the very old NC9, KitKat, Android 4.4.2 firmware.

As for your Kies connection problem, ensure that you are using the original Samsung USB cable that came with the phone and that you are connected directly to your PC and not via a hub. Also. try entering... *#0808# into your dial pad and try different, "USB Settings", (remembering to reboot each time), until you find one that works. See screenshot...

You can update your phone by downloading the firmware below and flashing it to your phone by following the instructions and video contained in the links of #1.11 of 41 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide

Thanks very much for answers. And my phone also can't detect SIM card, I tried different SIMs, it just can't recognize any card and says you have to insert SIM card. Do you know if this is a common problem, software or hardware issue?

I tried everything about my connection to Kies, changing USB settings from developer options, changing USB settings to MTP+ADB, trying different cables (original included but I don't know if the cable I took out from box is original Samsung), trying different computers. Everytime I failed and after reading how bad Samsung USB drivers for Windows 10 and general bad reviews about Kies software and a common inability to connect devices for many people, I just gave up. I think I will just update the Android software manually after new year, it shouldn't be problem since it was flashed before.
