Wifi disconnecting

So I am in Korea on business for a month and only have a wired access point. I want to be able to use my Spectrum so I installed virtual router on my laptop to share the internet connection wirelessly. My Spectrum is rooted and running a fresh ICS ROM. It seems to stay connected to the router in the lobby just fine but when connected to my virtual router, it disconnects all the time. Sometimes after 5 seconds, sometimes after 10 minutes. After every disconnect it takes forever to connect again. When I hit connect it usually wont even try, not for a while anyway...
Anyone else ever fix a similar problem?

First off, HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET AN ICS ROM ON YOUR SPECTRUM!! There is an ICS Rom out there but it isn't quite ready yet,as far as being able to call or receive MMS. As far as the WIFI thing, the Sectrum usually doesn't stay connected very well to source that has a sort of a weak signal and will connect and disconnect constantly.

I just flashed this rom. The data and GPS dont work but since I am in Korea I couldnt use them anyway, so I thought it a perfect time to actually have ICS on my Spectrum, and I love it.

I found a fix, I downloaded an app called wifi manager and though it still disconnects every once and a while, wifi manager forces the connection again right away so I dont even notice it.

Well I guess I was mistaken about my problem being solved. It still disconnects all the time and wont even try to reconnect. It seems to only be a problem with the wifi from my laptop using virtual router. Other wifi points there doesnt seem to be a problem. Anyone have any experience with Virtual Router? I would love to do Ad-Hoc but every solution i find to get an android phone working with ad hoc doesnt work, at least not on the Spectrum.
