Pretty Please???

Well if you ever used a hand me down phone, well I have one! It's a pathetic LG 8700. The thing has been washed once and its has no battery life. So if you need good service that's not the phone. I cant' upgrade because I gave it away for a BB Pearl which wasn't much better than the LG. I have considered buying the Incredible at full retail but unfortunately I don't have the funds being I am a full-time student. The Incredible would be a" Dream Come True" with it's blazing speed 1Ghz Snap Dragon processor to name the few. Come on give a poor unfortunate, a Incredible! It's the only Droid that will Incredibly do all found exclusively on Verizon Wireless. The only carrier with Incredibly blazing 3G speeds.:p

Currently using a Blackberry Curve 8330. Can't wait to use NFL Mobile on an Incredible.

Thanks Phil (and the rest of the Android Central team) for all the in-depth reviews in preparing me for my switch.

Well I'm stuck on a BlackBerry Storm 2....... Until I either win an Android based phone or buy one when my annual upgrade is available. BlackBerry is so sadly stuck in the past I can hardly wait to get to something more current & innovative. The huge app size & extremely limited app selection is depressing. *sigh* Needless to say, it's time for something new.

Seriously, I want an HTC so bad I could spit. I got sucked into a Cliq and I'm still running 1.5. And for what? Because for no apparent reason they haven't released it yet. I have friends with Droids and it's like I'm playing music from 2003 while they're in the Top 40. having an Incredible would allow me to catch up and surpass them in some ways.

Its not a story about me, but about my girlfriend, and how she went through 8 phones to get to her current crappy phone.

First, she got a storm 1. I will save you the agonizing details, but she ended up replacing that phone 4 times, each 3 weeks apart. She kept it in an otterbox-like case, and never mistreated it, but thanks to sloppy craftmanship, it was terrible!

She finally gets a replacement, to a Storm 2. Oh goody...this phone proceeds to fail 3 or 4 times as well. Screen doesn't click, then screen clicks when off, then OS corrupt, then battery fail, etc. It was a nightmare, and I was the guy who had to negotiate with verizon each time to replace it.

Finally, she gets pissed off one day, throws her blackberry in the trash (not kidding! Right onto eggshells, too), and goes and gets my old EnV, and announces she will use that, because even in it's terrible shape, she will use it as it is more reliable than a Blackberry.

So, this entrance is not just for her, but for me. Please save us from iterations of crappy devices, and get her a new phone so I can live in peace!

Eris

I have an Eris and I don't like the fact that my phone is on the end of life list for Verizon. I would love to have a phone that I know that Verizon is going to be continuing to cover and back! As well as the fact that my girlfriend loves my phone and I would love to give it to her and pull her into the awesomeness that is Verizon!

A Voyager from the week they came out. Now has a nice cat claw scratch on the screen. Along with this new feature that makes the power button on the outside of the phone not work. The Incredible's box is nicer than my phone.

Save me from Windows Mobile

I am currently stuck on the Samsung Omnia and need to wait to upgrade when my contract is due. Please help me get off of this Windows mobile phone and catch up to the Android revolution.

That's right, we're giving away a second Verizon HTC Droid Incredible. And you can (and should) enter both contests. (Here's the first contest.)

To win in this thread, tell us about the sorry old phone you're currently using. We'll pick one post at random Wednesday morning, and get the phone shipped off in time to reach you on launch day. Good luck, everybody!

Pathetic Old Phone

I've got this pathetic 6 year old Motorola E815 flip. The camera no longer works, the "8" button sticks and it sounds like I'm listening to people through a moist turd. It's a complete piece of crap that I've held onto while waiting for the ultimate smartphone on Verizon. Now it's here, the Droid Incredible and I'm so happy I could pee myself. What would make me even happier would be to win a free ultimate Android phone like the Incredible!

I have been silently following the progress of Android phones for Verizon here for a while now reading up on a replacement for my POS, worst phone ever created hunk of garbage Motorola Krave. Imagine a phone where every letter in a message was incorrect. A phone with a touchscreen that is both overly sensitive and absolutely non-responsive .. at the same time! A phone that reboots when receiving calls! And a phone with some horrible browser that also ends up rebooting the phone most of the time. And there you have the Krave! :(

Finally, the Incredible and I can upgrade! Except .. the money earmarked for the phone is going for my trip in June instead.

You guys would help me out a lot! C'mon Mr/Mrs Random, help a guy with a <gag> Motorola Krave! :o

I'm posting for my mom. She has a Samsung Omnia...which she HATES! it has a TERRIBLE stock keyboard so when she types, it takes her TWICE as long to crank out a standard text message than it would on her back-up flip phone. The screen is cramped with preloaded widgets that she can't figure out how to turn off/on. It's gotten to the point where the phone is SO bad, she just uses it at a navigation system/calendar.

She REALLY needs a new phone and I think she would LOVE the Droid Incredible. She has seen my Moto Droid and LOVES all of the things that it can do. Since she's older, she's a BIG fan of BIG screens and the Incredible has a big, beautiful one for her. She loves the talk to text feature on my phone so I know that she would love it. Add that with the apps, easy to use camera, and lightening fast processor, she'd be in heaven!

She would get it for herself but her contract isn't up yet and she's stuck with the Omnia for another year. Plus with Mother's Day AND her birthday coming up in the next few weeks, I think this would be an amazing gift. Help me help HER!!

I'm a picky bastard. A very picky bastard. I've been waiting for a smartphone I can really love. There's always been something holding me back. iPhone? AT&T and iTunes. Then Apple's shenanigans with the app store. G1? T-mo, and the immaturity of Android. Moto Droid? Android 2.1 and the Nexus One. N1? The promise of coming to VZW. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I'm still using a dumbphone. The LGVX8300. We're talking about a phone from 2006. It's a good phone, but it has done its duty, and then some. Now, there's the HTC Droid Incredible. I'm ready. This is the phone. This is the time.

Do you really want to know about my sorry phone...okay here it goes

I am the sad owner of a Blackberry Storm 1; oh the name fit's it because what good comes out of a storm? Nothing the best part is when it is finally gone.

God forbid I actual try answer my phone, it only takes 2 - 3 minutes to answer. It just shows me a white screen.

Blackberry apps? Yeah all 3 of them are cool if the phone could support any applications actual running. The only app that does not FAIL is brick breaker and the computer cheats!

Okay I can't go any further, I have to go to therapy to curve my sudden acts of rage I get when I have to use my phone...

I'm using a G1 and it's holding up pretty well, although T-Mobile's coverage is spotty in some areas. I had been on Verizon for more than four years with the same old phone, and I left for T-Mobile the day the G1 came out, so I'm looking forward to having the best of both worlds now.

I'm using a sorry old G1. I don't regret being an early adopter, I love Android, however, this phone is old, sad, and tired. Often times when leaving an app and returning to the home screen, it takes upwards of 15-20 seconds for icons to start appearing. Randomly, pressing the camera button to launch the camera app causes the phone to reboot :( I actually called to see about getting my phone exchanged, but I was so busy that I wound up calling just days after my 1 year warranty expired and they wouldn't do anything for me. Please hook me up :)

I'll finally be able to ditch my Motorola W375 that I've had for a few years. It was the most basic "feature" phone verizon had at the time. I'll also finally be able to find my way around using Google Maps, without having to print out directions for everywhere I go. I just moved to a new city and have been holding out on getting a GPS because I've been looking to get an Android phone for a while and was waiting for the Nexus One on Verizon but now I'm gonna have to go with the Incredible.

I have a Motorola Droid. Which is admittedly a pretty sweet phone. I got it right before my honeymoon, and it made our West Coast tour of Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Big Sur pretty frickin' incredible! Now, we're expecting our first baby (good honeymoon *cough* *cough*), and I would use the Droid Incredible to capture, document, post, and all-in-all make our baby experience frickin' incredible too! Thanks guys!!

I want to win this for my dad. He buys himself a new phone every 5-7 years and right now he's using an LG Dare and it's painful to watch him try to get anything done other than making a phone call. He's always asking me about Android phones and iPhones but he'll never buy himself a new phone or accept someone buying him one so this would be my best bet in putting that Dare to rest.
