Wireless charger won't charge phone to 100% overnight

Another reason could be that when your phone get notifications, the vibration might move it from the position it charges. I leave my phone on the "Do not disturb" setting...

Ah ha, you have an S6 Edge and you bought two Samsung wireless chargers, one in each color. That explains everything. ;)

Wait, I noticed something (serious). Your black charger has a white usb cord. It ships with a black usb cord. Are you using the "fast" charger and oem white cord with the samsung charger?

Lets see if one day they issue an update with fixes including this wireless charging problem. Actually I hope the update includes "fixed battery draining issue because we foolishly released this phone with Android 5.02 instead of 5.1.1."

Haha, well that's not my actual picture. Did you read my previous post?

This post? If so, I leave my phone in silent overnight, so its not vibrating off the pad. I've charged during the day as well and have seen it go to a green LED then some minutes later the charger powers off.

Yeah. Geez, this is so weird. I'm looking around my settings to see what changes I've made that keeps my phone charging...

Return it, yours is defective. Must perform like all the others to be working correctly. ;)

Enjoy it!

Add me to the list. I have the edge and the charging will turn off in the middle of the night after it hits 100%. I checked the status and it turns off like 3am.

I thought it worked correctly the very first night I tried it. I vaguely remember it being 100% and green lit the next morning. But all the other nights it's been like 95% when I wake up. Bad design..

I read on multiple forums of people having this issue. I read it though a day after I already ordered my Samsungs S6 and Samsung Wireless Charger. I bought them both on the first of this month. They are both the latest models and I have to say at first I was worried about having the same problem. But fortunately mine stays charged fully all night until I take it off the round pad the next day. I am assuming maybe its a software or hardware problem with the one of the two. How old is your phone and charger and what model are they? My phone is the SM-G920FMADE IN VIETNAM AND MANUFACTURED I ASSUME IN THE UK. THE WIRELESS CHARGER IS THE NEWEST FROM SAMSUNG MODEL EP-PG920I MAED IN THE UK MANUFACTURED IN VIETNAM. So far no probems with it and it runs great. They phone isnt as smooth as I expected when scrolling through pages and apps as they said it would be but thats the only problem I have so far.

New OEM Samsung wireless charging pad (round disc) will charge to 100% then LED turns green for a short time before the charger powers off. Charger will only power on again if you lift phone off then return to the charger.

Unfortunately, Samsung did not include a "top up" function for their wireless charger. This charger is not the best option for overnight charging as you'll surely wake up to less than 100% charge.

I had this same problem and returned mine. Not sure about other wireless charging options.

I've gone through two of these with the same results. Not sure if the problem is in the phone or the charger. Many positive reviews on YouTube, Amazon, etc. for this charger so apparently we're just unlucky. The fact that it occurs for multiple chargers makes me think that see of us have phones with some kind of manufacturing defect - perhaps a unit-to-unit variation in coil position or some other such item. I've looked at third party options and noted that some S6 users report similar issues with those, although some on the forum have had success by switching.

This happened to me a few times. When I wake up, I just take it off and put it back on the wireless charger and it goes all the way to 100.

I'm having this issue as well with my Samsung galaxy wireless charger.. I put it to charge over night so 11pm to 6am when I wake up its at 78 percent.. It actually did the same when I used the charging cable last night

The issue is with the charger. My S6 charges fine overnight with other wifeless chargers.

Not having this issue. Seat in on properly and the blue LED lights. Try exchanging it or try a TYLT wireless charging pad.

Curious whether anyone knows if this is an intentional design feature (to prevent constant charge/drain issue and associated harm to battery) or is it simply a design flaw. If design flaw how do other wireless chargers maintain at 100% without doing harm to battery in the long term.

I believe i found the problem/solution to the samsung wireless charging issues.

i had started noticing that my phone would go on the base at 80% at night.. and when i woke up it would be at 70%.. tho i didnt get the same results when wired in, it would be at 100%.

apparently the charger goes to 100%, then turns off and then starts depleting as the night goes on.. the problem was that my phone had a large amount of unclosed programs in the background, and thus the battery would deplete overnight. My solutions was to hit the button to show all the background applications, and "close all" prior to charging.. when i awoke, it would be at 100%.

so its important to close all applications prior to going to bed to ensure the battery doesnt start depleting after it hits 100%.
