I have also heard of people getting New Droid X Replacements as well.

well mine was from TX as well so make sure you post what you got tomorrow, I will do the same. The anticipation is KILLING me! I dont care either way because I have an X on order but this would make the wait for the X go a little easier

I am getting a Droid 2 as a replacement for my Droid 1. The tech support rep that helped me said that I would get a new battery door in a separate shipment, so I guess this is a refurb. He said it was new, but said I would have to use my battery and SD card. I asked why, and he said that new replacement phones were put in inventory from the start with no battery or card.

What did you tell your rep, i talked with one tonight, and they said they'll be sending me a D1. Hopefully i'll get one of those nice letters saying i was upgraded because of low inventory. does it have something to do with location? I am in Florida.

There was someone who asked if he could get a D2 and was told "NO WAY" by the rep and a D2 showed up, I don't think they know much about what you are going to get. I was told I was getting a replacement D1, I will repost what I get in a few hours when it arrives. I am in Boston and it shipped from Fort Worth TX

They must have prepackaged these to keep costs down so they are not giving away new batteries, SD cards, and battery doors to people who have problems with the D2 before there are any refurbs to give them

Dont know I got a brand new droid 2 with battery and all im now trying to figure out do I send my droid battery and door back or just the phone would be nice to have that extra battery

I sent just the D1, kept the battery, SD card, and door. If they want those back, they'll contact me. Besides, the insert said to keep the battery and door.

That is so bizzare.

I know I am not the only one here who got a D2 when I was supposed to receive a Droid

not a big deal though I did get a little excited

stupid replacement screen wobbles and slides open with very little pressure. So it looks like I will get to play the waiting game again
