With a heavy heart, I say goodbye "D1"

Re: Got my replacement D1, it's a NIB D2!!!

I may qualify due to a small scratch in the glass. Its not too aggrivating as I don't see it but only feel it. And I'm nervous to play refurb roullette. Is it worth the risk? I wonder if this us what happens:
OP requests a replacement.
Vzw has none. Sends D2.
Next poster requests a phone
Vzw sends OPs phone
Repeat.

Is it okay for me to call for the scratch?
Even if yes is it worth the risk?

Doubt a scratch would be covered by the regular verizon warranty. You'd probably need to go through asurion if you have the accidental damage coverage.

Yup. The rep told me its most likely claim worthy even if small. She said Its 89 deductable. So this insurance claim is different then the replacements you guys are talking about. Hmmmm. Maybe that changes the redurb roullette game.

Is everyone here getting replacements via vzw warranty? Or assurion insurance?

at this moment im contemplating having my Droid meet my wall haha jk but im getting so sick of my Droid that i want somthing new. guess ill wait and maybe ill drop it somewhere on accident. though i must say my droid has been one of the sturdiest devices i have owned to date that has not broke or has any major damage to it.

Yes it is different, problems that are not from user abuse (not that you mistreat your phone) like my camera button doesnt work all the time, likely a spring or contact in it, something that wore our prematurely

What you can do is have verizon send you a refurb (hopefully a new D2) and if you don't get a D2 or a quality D1 replacement. just call verizon and tell them to send a new refurb and that you'll just keep your original until the second replacement arrives. And just send the first replacement back in the return shipping package.

same here. i'm wondering what asurion will send you? i'd be willing to pay a deductable if it ment a D2, DInc, or DX.

Merged threads, the other thread began heading in the same direction as this.
:)

To those that got a Droid 2 as a replacement for a Droid 1, when you got the "Important Information Regarding Your Replacement Device" email, did it specify a Droid 1 or a Droid 2?
