Tracking came from Verizon via email. Two actually. I"ll have mine tommorow!!!

Just spoke with Fedex, they said my phone is only 15 minutes away at my local facility but they will not attempt to make delivery today and will not allow it to be picked up until after at least one delivery attempt.

They said, the hold is per Verizon's instructions and they can't change it.

Bummer. So I'm back to tomorrow.

Yeah same with me. Lame...This is going to be a long 2 days.

Mine is still telling me to check back tomorrow. This sucks because I don't think I'll be getting mine on Thursday if they are doing two day shopping.

I find it hard to believe it was intentional. I know it really does not seem like a big deal to us, but compaines take these things very seriously. I worked at a Best Buy while in college and we had somebody get fired once for selling a video game before the release date. Apple had private security at their stores to ensure nobody sold an iPad early.

Now, Verizon did try to make a big deal about the Droid launch, and it was mostly quiet, with no big lines at stores or anything. So maybe they are not as concerned about this launch as far as waiting until the 29th. But I find it hard to believe that they don't care that units are out early.

I guess as a general consumer who has never worked in retail sales I've never given this much thought.

You really do have to wonder if all this - the initial few hundred phones that were shipped way early, now the possibility of people getting their phones a few days before the release date - is indeed a mistake or, a clever ploy to play on the want/anticipation of the customers interested in this new phone.

Considering your post I would assume this may all indeed be a mistake on Verizon's part. It would be interesting to know for sure though.

I called this morning because my order still said it was waiting on approval/phone availability. The guy said he looked like everything was moving through to receive on 4/29.

Just checked the order website and I get this:

My order finally got moved to "Order Status: Your order has been processed. You should receive your order within 2 - 3 business days."

Should I be concerned that I haven't received a shipping confirmation? I got the free overnight, so 2 business days from today would technically be accurate, but I'd like to make sure...

When did you order....I'm a lil over an hour from Roswell. I could have been getting my phone around this time too, but I guess I'll just have to wait it out.

Just another 24 hours of obsessively checking FedEx... goes well with the last five days of obsessively checking Verizon in between reading every single thread here in preparation.

LOL...Mine arrived in newark at 10:50 am also, Im on LI also....could be on the same truck...too funny. GEEZ...I need a life...I have OCD for phones....
