Worms like screensaver issue

This afternoon, suddenly on my Nexus 4, i have started getting the weird issue. There are animated germs or worms that keep circling withing my home screen.
Whenever i touch my home screen it multiplies. Some kind of a game like feature. (remember the snake game on old nokia phones, same way but with colored snakes)
I restarted my phone, but couldn't remove it. I ran some scans with antivirus to check but there were no threats.

It got resolved when i changed my wallpaper.

Please, any help on how or why this happened?

Looks kinda cool to me...

Long-press on the display and tap Live Wallpapers (or, Settings -> Display-> Live Wallpapers. What is listed there?

Looks and acts like a live wallpaper to me. Maybe your son/daughter downloaded it at some point?
