XO Skin is now dry, perfect fit.

So I've been on the fence about these protectors (this and Ghost Armor, conveniently next in the post list). I have a Zagg Shield on my Dinc and iPod (classic, not touch!). I went to mess around with my Dinc for my fiancee (she's a big scrabble/word game fan), and I forgot how weird it was using a very...sticky...screen. Can anyone honestly compare each of the 3 "big" wet protectors--Zagg, GA, XO--and tell me (us) which have the best feeling?

Right now--and if I said this 3 days ago, i'd be insane--I'm thinking about going protectorless. But we'll see!

Having used XO and skinomi, I'd say skinomi is superior. It's day 4 with the XO skin and there is still 3 bubbles that won't go away, and there is this oiliness that doesn't seem to go away either. I'm pretty disappointed with xo so far. 4 days is a little much considering the skinomi was perfect after the first day.

How about with feel? I'll look the skinomi up. I have a week to decide before I go back to work/school, so no rush :D.

If you do a halfway decent job the xo skin will look great. The problem isn't the look but the feel. The xo skin feels a bit tacky. I haven't used skinomi, but have heard that they are much nicer feeling. More on par with glass.

Yeah, after the first day or so the skinomi felt like glass. I wonder if I can get my money back for the XO..

Skinomi is? Noted. Do they make a case fit like XO does? Last thing I need is for my Otterbox to peel up a protector.

Doesn't look like it on the site.

The skinomi I used on my Rezound had an otterbox defender case and it didn't peel it up at all.

I have put on the Otterbox Defender 3 times for tossing the phone in the mountain bike backpack with the Xoskin in place, looks fine, it is not peeling the edges back. The Otterbox is just too big to have on all the time, and the Xoskin is absolutely clear and the very slight stickiness that is left is ok by me.

I work with the hardware on computers all day without a fingerprint on the Xoskin and then when I come home and stuff Cheetos and BBQ ribs in my mouth I get all kinds of marks on the screen. But I will admit there is some stickiness left to the Xoskin that has not completely gone away. I will buy a Skinomi and hold onto it until the Xoskin gives out - really would like to compare them side to side to see what "sticky" means to people, what I have now is perfectly acceptable to me.

OK. I just put an xoskin on my dads charge last night. Went much better and much less resistance than my xoskin on my galaxy. Push the bubbles out quick and don't obsess over every little bubble. The more you mess with the skin and try to remove every little bubble the worse it looks and feels. Since I had to get a replacement galaxy, I had to pull my xoskin. Hopefully, the install on my replacement xoskin goes as smooth as it did on the charge. I would say that the protector is a slicker than the skin that came on the phone (with the galaxy nexus in the middle) and hard to tell between the bare glass. If you feel like your skin is tacky, it probably means your install is bad. I have done two xoskin installs and the difference between the two is night and day. One great, the other I wanted to pull off.

I decided to return my xo skin and purchase a Skinomi. The skin has 2 bubbles that won't go away after 5 days and it won't lose this sheen on it either. I'll report back when I get the skinomi to see the difference.

I've had my XOSkin on my GNex for about a week now. I messed up during the installation process and long story short there are 4 ugly little bubbles down near where the LED light is. Additionally, several streak marks that look like ugly smudges are visible really only when the screen is off. I'm 50-50 on whether to take it off or leave it on. and if i take it off, I'm 50-50 on whether to pay a little extra to get a replacement or just leave it off.

I ordered an XO skin shortly after getting my GNex. Application went well and it looked pretty good. It's been a couple weeks and I can definitely see the orange peel effect and I've also noticed there are a few wrinkles and defects that are noticeable with the right glare. I decided to go naked and I'm happy I did. The XO skin had a grippy feel to it sometimes and didn't have the smoothness of the glass. The screen just looks too good and feels too smooth for me to think about putting another screen protector on it. I'm going to keep the GNex naked.

So I got my Skinomi Techskin yesterday, put it on, waited 24 hours to dry, and now I just turned it on. Gorgeous. This looks so much better on the first DAY than the XO skin looked after the first week. It still has some spots that need to disappear, but overall it looks fantastic.

The feel is much better, no bubbles, some minor scratches, but I don't know if those will go away. Not sure why it is scratched either, I put the microfiber cloth over the included squeegee card and sprayed it before I squeegeed the screen. I also don't see any orange peel.

Overall, I'd say the Techskin beats the XO for me on all fronts. Installation was better (more cut outs for sensors and such), and was much easier to place. The feel of it almost feels like glass, but I imagine it'll get better in a few days. YMMV. Pics included, sorry if they don't look great, I'm not much of a photographer.

Thanks for the pictures and the feedback. Let us know how it feels and such in the next few days. They're very sticky in the beginning, and they get less so over time. What's the material?

Not sure, this is what the site says:

TechSkin is made from the same film material used to protect luxury cars, military aircrafts, and NASA space shuttles. Skinomi TechSkin protectors are custom made to specifically fit your device.

The packaging doesn't really say anything either.

EDIT: I guess NASA space shuttles and luxury cars scratch easily when you rub microfiber cloths on them too. This is seriously bogus, it's my only complaint. It scratches way too easily. You can't tell when the device is on though. I tried to apply more of the solution to see if it would cure it, but it doesn't.

This protector is the best. All of the imperfections have gone away after one day and it feels just like naked glass. If anyone is dissatisfied with the XO skin, I implore you, give the Skinomi Techskin a shot. You'll be glad you did.

XO and GA are the best out there. I used to use GA but it dented easy so I looked for another kind and found XO Skins. It heals from everything and doesnt have the orange peel look like skinomi or zagg.

This video show a side by side of XO vs some others. If you don't know what orange peel is, this shows it [YT]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoMRO4OiXw4[/YT]
