Memo Pad 8 will not stay off while charging/plugged in

Hi;
Anyone having problems with their memo pad 8 staying off while charging/plugged in. It's quite frustrating to have this around in a room when you're not using it! I turn if off with the power button, and within a few seconds it's back on. It will turn off on it's own and then come back on a few seconds later, and repeat. Ultra frustrating.

I removed all the apps/reset the firmware/deleted all data and it still does it, so it's not a wayward app. (Before I did that, Installed Wakelock Detector, but it only tracks things waking up while on battery, not while plugged in.) The firmware is current.

Any ideas?

It sounds like an issue with the ROM. Unfortunately, I do not know of a fix, as something like that is really deep in the coding of the ROM itself.
