Although I'm waiting for the $50 Black Friday sale to use my upgrade and switch to the Galaxy S3, I've been checking out the forums every few days so there's no surprises when I finally get it. My biggest concern (and the reason we've all seriously thought about switching providers), is when am I going to actually get LTE in my area? Because lets face it, It sucks having a powerhouse cellphone that is hobbled by Sprints craptastic service. For me, that LTE launch isn't coming until April 2013. Now I'm not happy about it, in fact I'm kind of pi$$ed off by it because my bill goes up by $10/month once I upgrade to a 4G phone (that really isn't 4G for the first 5-6 months). But before this turns into a full blown rant, you can check the scheduled LTE roll-out dates for your area below. Then you'll have a better idea of how much longer you're going to be pi$$ed off at sprint too! :p

I don't know about that. Unless Brooklyn has moved since the last time I saw a map, it should be launching in your market next month.

I'm in Upstate NY so it says look for it sometime next fall. Currently on an iPhone 4s but had an android before that. Wanted to see what all the hype was about. Well I'm ready to jump to the GS3. My only question is do I stay with Sprint or go to VZW since they have 4g LTE all over my area. My sprint contract expires next October. Do you think the GS3 speeds are good enough on Sprint 3G or is it really a drag?

We have 4g in most of the Southside of the Tidewater Area. Most of Norfolk, Va. Beach, Chesapeake and Portsmouth as of the beginning of the year. I have no idea about the Peninsula part of Tidewater... Nothing in Suffolk.

Most of? That's kind of a generous proclamation, lol. It's spotty at best. A couple of spots in Hampton/N. News lit up. Can't wait until it's full-fledged.

No. It's "most of". There is maybe one or two areas in each of the four cities that I don't get 4g and usually I get nothing on the interstates (64, 264, 564, parts of 464). I haven't had to work on the Peninsula for a couple of weeks, so I haven't been able to see the coverage there yet. One thing I find odd is I loose 4g coverage close to military installations. I would have thought Sprint would have provided them with better coverage.

Well, you know the military takes there time to do what they want, lol. I'm usually on the interstate and only on 64 around battlefield eastbound I get 4g. I get strong signals in Norfolk around 21st and Colonial. I pulled 22 down and 7 up one day...

I'm in Virginia Beach near Town Center/Lynnhaven Mall area and I get 4G LTE. Getting a good strong signal too. Even in my house. But once I got to work this morning at NOB....nothing. Back to 3G. So yeah its spotty here and there in the Hampton Roads area.
