I have a file manager and I am still having an issue. Most of the photos are duplicates.
Having a file manager isn't enough. You have to actually
use it
The problem is the Droid saves pictures by source and as nearly as I can tell there's no way to change this. As a result (to use my phone as an example) if you take pictures with the camera, copy some onto the phone with bluetooth, get some off the web and copy some via USB you're going to have at least 5 folders in the gallery:
- All Pictures
- Pictures
- Downloads
- Bluetooth
- Camera
These will correspond to the physical folders on the phone:
- sdcard/DCIM/Camera
- sdcard/Bluetooth
- sdcard/download
- sdcard/Pictures
Plus one folder in the Gallery (All pictures) that has them all.
You can get this down to a maximum of 2 (All Pictures and Pictures) by:
- Using a file manager
- Go into the physical folders on the phone (e.g., sdcard/bluetooth)
- Select all of the pictures there
- Select "cut"
- Go to the folder sdcard/pictures
- Select "paste"
Repeat this for any other folders.
It would be nice if there were an option to save all pictures to sdcard/pictures, regardless of source. Perhaps in the 12/11 update?
Hope this helps.
