Why are texts from a specific contact not being received?

I'm currently not receiving the texts messages that a good friend of mine has been sending me since January 1st.

She's received the messages that I've sent her including one that I sent today.

I still receive texts from other people and I've cleared the cache and still nothing. The messages that she's sent don't show in the text history either.

Welcome to Android Central! Does that person have an iPhone? Did you ever have an iPhone (and therefore registered your number with iMessage)?

I still have this same issue. I did a factory reset, AT&T did some network resettings on my device, re-registered my device, and still nothing. Only thing that worked for me was to use the Google messaging app. I now get all messages from the contact.The other person's phone is android.
