Why has my phone suddenly started to charge at a much slower rate?

my phone suddenly started to charge at a much slower rate?

i have an HTC desire 610, i had it for a few months no problem then suddenly today in the morning it just started to charge at a much slower rate. i tried to a new wire but it still doesn't make any difference.

In that case, possibly a damaged or dirty connector in the USB port? ....Among other possibilities.

but why the sudden problem it was fine yesterday and what will the cost be to fix it
