I’m older than dirt and ignorant regarding setting up this app. I have an SD micro with many MP3 conference speakers on it, set up in folders depending on topic. The player plays individual speakers fine only if I choose them from a folder by way of file manager – SD memory – open folder and then choose one. I’m not looking for anything fancy just want to listen to one folder at a time from #1 MP to the last.
I have no clue how to do the simple trick of directing the APP in the direction of the card to retrieve them.
It worked a couple months ago but something new and improved must have been installed to challenge me. Several times I’ve deleted and reinstalled the music player app. To no avail.
Please help as I’ll resort to my iPod.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you saying you that MortPlayer can't even find the SD card? Which phone do you have, and what version of Android is it on? If it's 4.4 (KitKat), then it's possible that MortPlayer doesn't have permission to access the external SD card's folder where your files are, due to newer restrictions that came with KitKat: KitKat and SD cards — what's fixed, what's broken and what's misunderstood | Android Central
