How do you move apps and pictures to a micro SD card?

A

AC Question

I have a Lenovo tablet and I recently got a new micro SD card to expand my storage. I tried to download an app and it said I didn't have enough storage. I was told I had to move my data to the SD card. How do I do that??

Welcome to Android Central! Not all devices support moving an app to SD, and for those that do, only a portion of an app can be moved (not the whole app). And not all apps can be moved, either. To see if your device supports moving an app to SD, go to Settings>Apps, look through a bunch of your apps, and see if any of them have a Move to SD button. If none of them have it, then the device doesn't support the function (unless you root the device, and use Link2SD or App Mgr III).

Moving picture files to the microSD is easy--use a file manager app like Total Commander, or connect the tablet to your computer via USB and use Windows Explorer to drag and drop the files.
