that also sounds like a smart CSR who wants people to stop calling. If they tell you anything but just wait 3 weeks, you will keep calling.
I just got off the phone after a long conversation with a CSR Supervisor.
Here is what I was told, take it for what it's worth (which I caution isn't much):
If you don't have your phone, you will receive it within the three week period from the date of the initial order.
Forget the "you'll get a tracking number in the next couple of days." They flat-out told me they have no way to determine if that's true.
They claim the hangup is with getting the order 'charged on their end.' they claim if your order gets charged (not-preauthorized) then your phone will ship. (I question the validity of this).
There's nothing they will do until the three week period has expired. Period. Not escalate to a specialist, etc.
They admitted they have absolutely no way to know when someone's phone will go out and even admitted any CSR telling you a date or 'next couple of days' is completely wrong. There is no way for them to know that information (their words).
So, sit back, enjoy your holiday and come back around December 4. You might get your phone before that, you might not.

They literally don't know. There's no way for them to tell anything other than you placed an order and for what. They have absolutely no insight into the fulfillment side and admitted as much. Call all you want, but it ain't happening. If you can't see anything, neither can they.that also sounds like a smart CSR who wants people to stop calling. They will do NOTHING prior to the end of the three week period.
Now THIS I can believe. All other CSR responses seemed to be a "satisfy the customer and get them off the phone, I tire of these calls."
Like I said, they did move me to a specialist (if thats what you wanna call anyone prolly just sitting next to them witha serious tone). He actually was very serious about running out of all the phones. They have run out of all the phones. Period. New phones manfactured will be shipping as soon as possible. There is nothing more to it. Google ran out nexus 4's.
I just dont know how long or in what they manafacture products and how they ship it. Well i m just going to lookout for next week and cancelling my order. They have just ruined it for me i guess.
Speculating much eh!
I don't understand why people feel like they need to "threaten" google by saying they are going to get an iPhone. I bet that 99% of the people that say they are going with another brand (WP or Apple) will indeed wait for their phone, or simply go with another flavour of android.
I've been playing with the Lumia 920 for a week. It's ok but still not "there" imho so I'm returning it. I was hoping to compare the cameras side by side but it looks like that's not going to haappen... I will wait for this phone, but it could very well be my last Google phone unless they get their act together. I went Nexus only due to lack of update support from carriers and manufacturers. It's worth it but not if I have to play these ridiculous ordering games.
Everytime i get a notification of a new mail, I miss a heartbeat. God this awful. Sickening would be an understatement actually.
