Verizon Purchase Bloatware?

I'm planning to buy a Pixel 2 (or 1 if I'm not thrilled enough to warrant it - bought my 6P from Google this way last year and it's working great still).

I recently switched to Verizon. For those of you that bought directly from Verizon, is there any downside to this? Did they add a bunch of bloat or otherwise encumber your device? I don't usually root my phones but I'd like the option to and I have ZERO tolerance for installed apps I can't remove.

Last year's pixels, whether you bought from Google or Verizon, if you put a Verizon SIM in it and reboot it would install 3 apps that were all easily uninstallable.

The major difference is that the bootloader is locked on the Verizon version.

That's a perfect example of what I was looking for. I'm kinda past my rooting/sideloading hobby these days but I don't want someone else deciding for me whether or not I want to do something.
