HTC One (M8): Transfer all items off M7 to M8

I apologize if this has been posted before but I did look through and could not find an answer. I purchased the M8 and i will be receiving it tomorrow morning. How do i transfer all my things from the M7 to the M8? I heard that i can use HTC Back up and the HTC Transfer tool. I just don't want to mess anything up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Anyone who has updated and can tell me how they did it would be awesome. thank you all and enjoy your M8's.

There are a couple good backup apps on the Play store. I have used Helium in the past with great success.

There is actually a setting in the settings menu on the m8 that will help you transfer everything. You need to download the HTC transfer tool app on your old phone. It works very well, takes a bit of time depending on how much you are transferring. I had 9gb of pictures and video files alone so it took several hours but it worked very well
