Hotspot issue and os issue

Hi, please i just recently brought verizon htc one m9 (but am nit not using verizon on it), the hotspot ismt working. will like to know solution to that pls.

i also want to upgrade the os to 6, dont know if i should do it. any reviews from does that upgraded theirs? should i upgarde? wont it pose any issue based on it was verizon issues phone?

Welcome to Android Central! I believe you have to be on Verizon to use the hotspot. Which carrier are you on?

To update the phone, try the Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant: Software Update - Software Upgrade Assistant (HTC) | Verizon Wireless. Although this might also require you to still be on a Verizon plan. In general, a phone that was originally from a specific carrier needs to be on that network in order to receive official updates.

thanks but am not on verizon plan. i actually purchase the phone from someone, was told it was unlocked. my sim works fine but the hotspot wont work because of the verizon plan on it before.

Right--the hotspot won't work on a different carrier.
