Got it. not sur how to merge lg files(android/kernal). Any suggestions? How to compress .vdi? Hd low on space. &&? The tutorials read its the final step. Will && merge?

You should've synced the kernel to a directory inside your build environment ex (/home/nigel/android42/kernel/lge/ls840).

I unziped kernal to a folder. Process: followed this http://forums.androidcentral.com/ge...compile-ics-aosp-4-0-3-xoom-gnex-nexus-s.html and add $ repo init -u git://github.com/CyanogenMod/android.git -b ics for repo. unzipped kernal+android zvi files to folder. Was peepin at this http://androidforums.com/5202844-post1.html. any ideas? how to merge kernal? Or build.

Stop looking at tutorials, ask us for help when you get lost. Delete the files and redo the git, then recompile.
Process:
Make install
Edit the config with nano, or vi, or something
Make config
Make



The install makes the file tree
The config makes the actual make file
Then make builds the package.

Kernal source found no configuration. Error 127 jar: no command.

You have to set the Java JDK into your home path, it's trying to run jar, but it can't find the command.

I know. Incorrect version also. switched to nigels code for java6. switched up cache. Same results. i restarted yesterday evening and was getting unknown device at boot. uninstall reinstall, nothing. im starting from scratch. Will java6 build proper ubuntu 12?

Yeah, the Android source doesn't play well with Java 7


Just run these commands:

wget https://raw.github.com/thenameisnigel/oab-java6/master/oab-java.sh
chmod a+x oab-java.sh
./oab-java.sh


That'll get Java downloaded and running for ya.

Nm java. started from scratch,got java6, got all programs, cache, rules. Got open source zvi extracted. Got toolchain. how to merge zvi folders to code?

Looks like kernal info paste to manifest? Im oblivious to kernal. If thats the case, i have android+kernal zvi folders. manifest? Wtf
