I have an extra Google photo app icon in the menu screen, how can I get rid of it?

Okay after I updated my motog2 to lollipop .I find an extra Google photos app in my menu screen ...I even try to remove it by dragging, but the app is not allowed to get uninstalled....guyz help me out

Run Application manager. Look at both apps. See if there's any difference in size. (Or use Link2SD to see the apps' versions.) They're probably different versions or even different apps.

After the update the Photos app is not part of Google + anymore. For some people disabling or uninstalling updates for Google + fixed the duplicate. It didn't work for me. I think because l had G+ disabled when I upgraded to Lollipop.

You can try to disable the Photos apps. One is just a couple of hundred KB and the other one about 1.7Mb. My guess, the first one is the old mini app related to G+.
