I've been using this ROM since the latest update, and just today, I tried to update Facebook, and got the dreaded "Insufficient space on device" error (total BS!). Then my browser was being slow, so I was going to install dolphin, and got the "package file is invalid" error. WTH? Should I be using different gapps? I flashed the one from page 1, but there was no market/play store, so I flashed another GB gapps that I used with another ROM. What do I do? I really like using this ROM and I don't want to switch, but if I can't update or install anything, I'm left with little choice.

Use Gapps below, and Read below, and I recommend 2.2.

I rcommend 2.2. 2.3 is laggy.

LG launcher does have issue on category and list style, use paginated layout works flawlessly. FC when tapping add favorites on Favorite contacts widgets, TO add fav contacts go to Contacts list and select fav contacts, it will show on the widget. FC when selecting more > sound effects on Music player, shortcut not working even on black bird ROM FC when pressing comment box on 4x3 lg music widget, it doesn't work yet, not needed at all twitter and myspace works

I ran it all day yesterday, charged twice through the day, then charged overnight. Within the first 2 hrs it was down to about 80 which granted is not that bad. However 2.2 on my phone wont go below 80 for at least an hour more.
I gave it a shot figuring i was playing a lot yesterday, but by 11 am est i switched back to 2.2 and my batt is now holding strong
Trust me i definitely want the newest ?best? gingersnap there is and imo 2.2 is where its at right now

I have been running 2.3 for about 2 days now. I used Link2SD, though you could use other program, to freeze (as opposed to deleting at this time) the following apps:

UserDictionaryProvider.apk (I use ICS keyboard user dictionary)

Items listed are ones I have frozen (disabled). I understand some users may want these, however, they do not affect my use. I have been running today with moderate use.

Ok. This one is NOT based on GingerDX. I found that the one on the blog is based on Gin DX, and the one on thread is CM7. The rom is now 98MB, without new kernel included&being ported yet(Lets find out what the actual one is), and I got permission from EarthnFire to use his kernel in the rom. Hopefully this has better battery life. I'm going to leave SNS in this one, see how it going, but if it drains battery, delete it. I play on adding things still as well.

New Rom is uploading. Rom is 95MB's, and I made a SNS( Social Networking Service? ) zip, along with a new updated Gapps by me. It will also have a modded build prop for Beats, and Sony's Xlound, and so on.

I use 2 programs to be honest. APKtool, and Winrar(or)7-zip.

Okay.

Just for kicks I unpacked the boot.img and noticed that the lowmemorykill files are not written, this could also be part of the problem with battery usage. The OM kernel has lowmemonykill treaks built in, but the file needs to be written in order for the kernel to know when to kill running programs.

You can also try removing some of the languages within the apk's this well help with the size of the ROM, though you will have to resign the apk's the in the ROM with the right key.

It's part of the boot.img, I can go through it two and add what needs to be add for you.
