I never use Ebay anymore for phones. I always use Swappa.com because it's safe, verified, and just better with less fee's. I always buy from people who have STARS there with good ratings. Worth a look.
Use swappa. You'll pay through PayPal on swappa too so you'll have buyer protection for 180 days. And the main swappa site doesn't allow broken phones (which the vast majority of phones on eBay are).
You have to make sure it's not a fake and that the imei is clean. I've heard that even checking the imei doesn't always guarantee it's clean since the seller could have it on a 2 yr contract then stop paying on it after you get it.
On Swappa, the seller has to provide the ESN and it's checked by Swappa for their protection. And, you still have the PayPal coverage for your protection.
I bought a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on Craigslist with a Samsung Fast Charger that's awesome! It also came with an Otterbox Defender case. All of that for 350.00. I couldn't be more happier with my purchase.
I brought a note 4 from swappa in March it had a camera focusing issue. I still had my insurance from my s4 took it into sprint and had no issues getting a replacement phone.
Just found out that if I switch to tmobile and have them pay 450.00 to Verizon for my phone I need to buy the phone from them. So instead of buying from swappa I need to sell my note4.Is this the best place to sell a phone ?
If T-Mobile pays the early termination fee and you're on a regular two year agreement with Verizon the phone would be good to go to be sold. If it's on an Edge agreement T-Mobile will only pay the ETF and you are still responsible for your Edge payments.
With the current promo I think you can switch and pay like $100 out of pocket. Have tmo pay Verizon, buy from tmo at FULL price and submit rebate to Sammy. Easy
