Hello, I have a Galaxy S4 GI9505 and it won't work with computers. I have tried driver updates, I've tried Kies and I've tried re-installing drivers. I've tried different usb ports, different computers and I've tried different cables. I've even tried going to *#0808# and changing it to just mtp but still won't work. It very occasionally will work but that's rare. I am at a complete loss as to what to do now, all I can think is there is some sort of fault with the phone itself. ANy help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to Android Central! The only thing you haven't been able to test is the phone's microUSB port--it might be faulty, only allowing charging now.

I'm not aware of an easy way to do that at home. You may just have to bring it to a repair shop and see if they can diagnose it--if it's just the microUSB port, it might just cost $30-40 to replace.

Oh, didn't know an S4 would still be under warranty ...

Yeah, that's a bit of a predicament. You could probably find a cheap used phone on eBay and use that temporarily. Wouldn't be a bad idea to have a backup phone anyway.
