I am testing T-Mobile's network in my area on a LG G2. I have 4g while outdoors and driving around but 2g inside my house. Will being on 2g cause battery drain? Will it be searching for a 4g signal while on my WiFi network at home?

If you're on wifi you should be okay... But it may still look for a stronger signal unless there really is none to be had.

Are you on a T-Mobile branded g2?

Yes, I am on a T-Mobile branded G2. Just wondering if I should ask for a Cel-Fi unit from them to keep my phone from wasting battery.

Try using the wifi calling feature on the phone. It'll shut the radio off and use the wifi as the cell signal.
