I've had my Note 9 (factory unlocked) direct buy through Samsung, since Aug.22. I thought I'd give it a little reivew on here.

So far, absolutely loving the phone. I use it for work email, home email, a lot of photos, among a million other things. Samsung Pay has been awesome on it. Very, very happy user overall.

It has had a few issues, though nothing long lasting. The only issues I've had have been: Camera "buzzing" sometimes when zooming on auto mode, though that seems to have gone away for the most part. Another issue was Moisture detected in the port, but that was resolved by a simple compressed air cleaning at home. Can't recall I've gotten it wet yet. I have dropped it once - it was in a handlebar mount and went flying to the pavement when I encountered some rough road surface (poorly repaired areas). Phone ended up with a couple gouges near the S-Pen with a small paint chip off the back of the pen, but unscathed other than that.

Currently have two cases with it: Uag Monarch (black) and Case-Mate Tough (clear).

I know battery life differs with everyone depending how much one person uses theirs from another. But from your daily usage, compared to your Note 8, how much more battery life are you getting between charges?

like if you are a hard user and only make it to end of day with the 8, are you making it to late evening or a full 24 hours with the 9? Or if you can make it from 9am to 9am and still have about 20% before plugging your Note 8 (that’s me) can you now make it to 9pm?

My coworker got his Nines last week and he likes it (over his 7 edge) but honestly the only thing I like on his is the battery and the noticeably louder speakers but after using it when showing him all the features, there really was no real visual difference the rest feels like my 8 and didn’t get any further excitement over the 8.

Nice write up. If there was ONE thing you'd change about the Note 9, what would it be?

Also, how is battery life for you?
Battery life is just fine for me I guess if there was one thing I would change maybe have a flat screen LOL it's really just fine for me though

I've had mine for 2 days now and I'm just now getting everything set like I like. So far it's been a positive experience.

I really hadn't planned on upgrading from my Note 8 but Verizon made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I have a business account with about 45 lines, so I visit the local corporate store enough that the employees know me. I went in the store to check on adding a new line of service and ask what kind of deals were currently available. Ends up I was able to get a new Note 9 for me and an S9+ for the new line, all for just about nothing.

They are running the BOGO deal so that's the normal part of the deal. But they were offering a deal on my upgrade line as well. So the BOGO is for the payment plan and signing up for the payment plan reduced the price of my unlimited line plan enough to cover the cost of the phone monthly. So at the end of the day it was like getting both for free.

The whole line discount issue then started another conversation with the business account representative that happened to be in the store (He's how I got the deal in the first place). So now my account is being reviewed by Verizons "account specialist" to see if we can move to a better, more current plan. I try to review our plan every few months but I think you need a "degree in Verizon" to understand and keep up with the changes.

Anyway, I've rambled on long enough now. Great phone, happy with the upgrade, curious to see what the Note 10 will bring.

There's one thing that I liked about the LG v20 that the note 9 does not seem to have and that is a wide-angle lens View for the rear facing camera

You say Samsung Pay works well with it. Did you have issues using Samsung Pay with your S9?

Quick question - which occurred first? The drop or the issues? Can't tell from the write-up.

That drop sounded quite severe. A drop like that could definitely cause some issues that would otherwise not happen.

Glad you're enjoying your new phone.

Live mode has a wide-angle view which seems to work well enough

The drop happened before the camera buzzing but the camera buzzing doesn't happen all the time and only occurred in auto mode not manual mode

You are right you do need a degree to understand Verizon. With TV and cellular service with them and I have to battle with a rep just to get to a supervisor. They run new specials for new customers and forget about the old ones.

That's why I'm now with ATT

Loving mine. The bigger heat pipe really works. I can play a full game of pubg without any throttling. Forget the ROG phone!

Hi how does your note 9 run pubg? On what graphics and frame rate? I have no idea why pubg does not run smoothly on my note 9:(
